Slow Living Home: Garden to table, Yoga & Cooking

Located 8 min driving from Aveiro city & 19 min from the coastal beaches. This family house made from Azulejos/tiles, was built by my Portuguese ancestors. I transformed it into a space for health, connections & slow living. Sleep in luminous & spacious traditional style rooms with an orient flair. Walk in our garden where you can pick vegetables and cook them in our kitchen. Enjoy in your morning breakfast home fresh eggs, sourdough bread, local cheese, jams, nut butters, coffee & more. The space House area The house is located in a rural region in the parish of Quinta do Picado in Aveiro. It was built in 1991 by my grandfather and has about 150 square meters of total area. At the entrance of the house there is a patio where you can park around four cars. Its entire interior was remodeled ensuring maximum comfort and with a decoration inspired by my trips to the East, in pure balance with the Portuguese traditional style at that time. It is surrounded by a garden with space for meals, to rest and a vegetable garden with a chicken coop. Garden - sitting area The useful area of ​​the garden is about 150 square meters, allowing guests to use it in a diverse and creative way, i.e.: being able to have meals outdoors with family / friends (16 people maximum), enjoy the grass for picnics, do yoga , reading, resting in the hammock under trees or even playing with your children or with your pet. The light at sunset is fantastic and invit us to be in this green space where the biological garden is next door to the hens that kindly give their fresh eggs to the whole house. Vegetal Organic Meals plant based The organic garden has a diversity of plants such as fruit trees (periospire, orange, fig, lemon) vegetables (lettuce, cabbage, pumpkins, peppers, leek, tomatoes, beans...), fuel flowers (capuchins,... .) and aromatic and medicinal plants (oregano, thyme, rosemary, chives...) and was created to be part of the food source for everyone who inhabits the house and guests can discover and harvest the diversity of food available in each season. The chicken coop has 4 hens and a garnisé where, in addition to taking advantage of their eggs, we also compost organic waste using it as fertilizer in the garden. Kitchen shared All food from the garden can be cooked in a common kitchen with stove, pots, crockery, cutlery, small fridge, detergents, cloths and a family table for 8 people. Next to the kitchen there is a small room with a 4 seater round table overlooking the garden where romantic breakfasts are possible in this accommodation or simply being an excellent place to work for those who seek us for this purpose. Wi-Fi restricted area The only area of ​​the house with wifi access is a small room next to the kitchen. Neither the bedrooms, nor the kitchen nor the yoga room have wifi. Yoga room Next to the kitchen, the living room has been transformed into a space for yoga, meditation, dance, music or other activities that promote health and well-being. It is a room with 18 square meters facing east and with a functional fireplace. It is an ideal space for those looking to connect with their physical, mental and spiritual bodies, as its space is decorated with immense comfort and oriental beauty. Rooms The house has four bedrooms, two are facing east (Rosa and duplex), one is facing southwest (Sol) and the last one facing west with the view to the garden (Azul). Rosa Ideal room with 14 square meters for a couple/siblings/friends with dogs as it has a large balcony facing east. It has two beds brought from India that can be joined to make a King size double bed. It has a built-in double wardrobe. It has a decoration inspired by a painting with roses, thus honoring the name of my mother Rosa. Duplex Room ideal for 4 people. It is a duplex that used to be a garage. It has lots of light and is spacious. Ideal for a family with 2 children or a group of friends. It has four beds brought from India that can be joined together to form a King size double bed. Its decoration was very inspired by the time I lived in India and all the wisdom of its culture, i.e. rich in messages of expansion of the power of my heart, my dreams, my mission. Blue Room that belonged to my dear grandfather. With a double bed measuring 1.30 m by 1.80 m facing the garden, to the west. It has a double built-in wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Bathrooms Ex libris of the house as there are no longer bathrooms like this with pink crockery and sink that are real sea shells. It's all still original. We have two bathrooms. Both have a washbasin, toilet, bidet. The small one has a polyvan and the large one has a bathtub where they can take a dip.
