Casa Descansa: 2 person ADULTS-ONLY (18+) holiday home with large private roof terrace, located on first floor of small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota. In the past this part of the house was occupied by the women of the farm. It was a place to rest after a busy day working on the land. Now it's a comfortable and attractive home to spend your holiday and enjoy the view over the countryside from the terrace. The beach, fishing village Fuseta and the lagoons of Ria Formosa are just 4km away. The space Via a private outdoor staircase to the first floor, you enter holiday home Casa Descansa (40m2), one of the four 2-person holiday homes in our small-scale accommodation Quinta Maragota. Holiday home features (all private): - The house has a semi-open layout: living room, sleeping area and kitchen are connected, but are somewhat separated by a small height difference and open archways. This gives both an intimate and spacious feeling. - You enter the house in the living room, tastefully and comfortably furnished with a fixed corner sofa and armchair and a window overlooking the roof terrace. - Through a large arched passage with a small step you enter the spacious sleeping area, with storage space for clothes, personal belongings and suitcases. - A comfortable king size bed (180x200cm). From the bed you can see the sun rise through two sliding doors (to the private roof terrace). - From the sleeping area you walk through a small open passage to the kitchen, with a dining table, ample storage space, various appliances, cooking and eating utensils. - Adjacent to the kitchen is an enclosed bathroom with toilet, stone washbasin, walk-in shower, towel radiator and a small window for ventilation. Towels, beach towels and a hairdryer are provided. - For both cooling and heating, an air conditioner with cold/warmth exchanger is available - All windows in the house have double insulated glass and mosquito nets. Private terrace: Through a sliding door in the sleeping area you enter a large private roof terrace (40m2), with various seating and relaxation areas, lots of plants and wide views over the farmland. The terrace offers sun and shade in every season. Communal garden: (used by a maximum of eight guests) In our large sloping Mediterranean garden, which is playfully and attractively decorated with many flowering plants and (fruit) trees, you can enjoy lots of relaxation areas to retreat in sun or shade, read a book, do some yoga or meditation in a specially designed area, enjoy a massage (pre-bookable) or have a snack and drink while listening to the many birds and crickets. To cool down there are an outdoor shower and a lovely salt water plunge pool with three levels for relaxation, surrounded by a green oasis of plants, olive and almond trees. The coloured sky at sunrise and sunset and many stars at night are often beautiful to watch from the garden. General information about accommodation Quinta Maragota (adults only 18+): Small-scale accommodation (maximum of eight persons), situated between fruit, almond and olive groves in the rural countryside of the beautiful Eastern Algarve and close to the beach (4km, Fuseta), offers four spacious holiday homes in an authentic Portuguese farmhouse, where persons of 18+ can stay. In this way we offer a place to people who want peace and quiet without children. The holiday homes are suitable for a maximum of two adults. The traditional farmhouse has been fully renovated (2020). All holiday homes are very comfortable in every season (with cooling in summer and heating in winter) and are smoke- and pet-free. Surroundings: The beach of the lively fishing village Fuseta is nearby (4 km). From here, and also from the beautiful coastal towns of Tavira and Olhão (both 15 minutes drive), there are boat connections to the small paradise islands off the coast. The beautiful nature reserve Ria Formosa with salt production, lagoons and many birds is very close (2km) and offers many walking and cycling opportunities. There are also lots of nice restaurants, various shops, (super)markets and places of interest at a short distance. The nearest traditional Portugese restaurant is a nice 20-minute walk away.
