Shepherd's House under the olive tree

Staying in the Shepherd's House brings you closer to nature. This traditional stone house is in a quiet corner of the village which allows you to have a peaceful stay. Enjoy having breakfast under the shade of the old olive tree or sitting on the veranda under the stars listening to the sounds of the summer night. The space The Shepherds house is located in a quiet corner of the village of Lychna. We have kept the original character of this traditional stone house whilst partially modernising it in a simple style. The setting is really beautiful - from the bedroom window you can see the old silvery green olive tree and from the veranda you can see the sea in the distance. During the summer nights there are hunting bats and owls that will hoot you to sleep. The house has two large airy rooms. The bedroom has a brand new king size bed (the mattress measures 160cm in width) - and a writing desk. The bed also has a large luxurious square mosquito net. A single fold up bed is available. The large kitchen has a new electric hob (that fits two pans) a fridge, cooking pans and plenty of cutlery. There is new sofa bed in the kitchen which can comfortably sleep two people. The house is built in the style of traditional stone houses in this part of Northern Greece - the rooms are large with many small windows, keeping them cool but letting in plenty of light. There is an exposed beam ceiling that shows off the original wooden beams of the house. The outside area offers access to the shared garden with a fig, lemon and pear tree. Your private outside space will be a large veranda space where you can have breakfast or dinner. We have added some modern touches - there is an air conditioning unit in the bedroom as it can get really hot during the summer months. If you prefer not to use this, we also supply fans and each bed has a mosquito net so that you can sleep with the windows open. Please note: If you are coming on holiday with another family or are a large group of friends it is possible to also rent the downstairs part of the house.
