We have a choice of three double bedrooms available at Middle Farm Cottage. The Blue Room is a king double, has its own coffee/tea making and a private bathroom next door. The Rose Room is next to the Blue Room and shares the same bathroom. These two rooms are therfore only let to the same party - they make a nice 'suite' for a family. To book the Rose Room, please go to www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/20845481 The Garden Room downstairs is more independent: www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/20722864 The space Ours is a traditional village B&B offering peaceful nights and superb breakfasts. Dinder is a beautiful farming village, just off the main Wells to Shepton Mallet road. Through traffic is minimal - horses being walked to their paddock, the occasional tractor, and the hourly bus in to Wells. Nightlife? Well, there is a resident owl in the field opposite... Guest access During the Covid-19 pandemic we are, of course, being very thorough in our sanitising of bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas, and social distancing. Breakfast is served in our cosy dining room, or in summer in our newly modernised kitchen-diner which opens onto the garden. We can offer continental or a full cooked breakfast. Fruit compote, bread, jams and marmalade are all home-made. Or you can just relax with a book and a cup of coffee. During your stay Middle Farm Cottage is our home, so we'll be available to help at all times. This is great walking country and we can also recommend a number of local pubs for that essential refreshment! The closest is a 15' walk (5' drive) away and does excellent evening meals. There are also many good restaurants in Wells. Other things to note In November 2019 Simon Jenkins, writing in the Guardian, elected Wells Cathedral as the finest of all the English cathedrals. “Its sculpted west front glows incomparably in the sunset, its giant scissor arches uplift its crossing, and its column capitals offer an encyclopaedia of medieval life. Wells also boasts the most serene chapter house anywhere.” www.theguardian.com/artanddesign/shortcuts/2019/nov/26/stairways-to-heaven-britains-top-ten-cathedrals And a month later, subscribers to Which? voted Wells as The Best UK City Break. “Plum on the central green perches Wells Cathedral, an epic endeavour of ecclesiastical architecture raised as England’s first Gothic cathedral between 1175 and 1490. Alongside runs Vicar’s Close, one of the only intact residential medieval streets left in Britain, with moated Bishop’s Palace close by. All that adds up to the full five stars for Wells’ cultural attractions. Better still, it’s walkable: England’s smallest city has a historic core that’s hardly a mile wide.” www.which.co.uk/news/2019/12/the-best-destinations-to-visit-in-2020 So, what are you waiting for?!
