Quinta dos Sorrisos is a charming and restful oasis in the coastal countryside where we can mainly hear the silence and the birds. Our two typical Portuguese houses (tastefully renovated, designed and exceptionally well-equipped for carefree vacation and winter stays) stand next to a large organic garden. The space This east facing room is the smallest in our lovely farmhouse, with a comfortable ottoman bed (mattress 140 x 200 cm) and some wardrobe space. A ceiling fan and air conditioner assure our guests' year-round comfort. Tiny remark: We wouldn't recommend this room to a couple with lots of luggage or staying for a lengthy period. Guest access Shared facilities in the farmhouse: a fully equipped kitchen, a combined living and dining room, a bathroom, a laundry tower (washing machine & tumble dryer), a separate toilet, and a cosy covered patio with a long dining table in front of the house. Bed linen, towels, bath towels, beach towels, hair dryer and all necessary toiletries (soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner) are provided. A variety of hot drinks, a delicious filtered water and ice cubes from the fridge are at your disposal, as well as all the necessary utensils for cooking and a rich selection of spices & aromatics. PRACTICAL TIP: Pack only clothes, toiletries and personal items, buy food and drinks nearby - everything else is already waiting for you. There is a huge and peaceful terrace with sunbeds on the roof of the main house, and a beautiful veranda in front of the main house where you can join the hosts for a drink and a chat… maybe also a slice of cake. You will be able to choose bikes from our wide selection to get around. We also offer some sports and social activities (e.g. badminton, pétanque, cornhole, sjoelbak, board games). You can jog or take a walk around our property (2,6 ha), explore our organic garden and enjoy its fresh produce. We speak English, French, Dutch, German, Slovenian, Serbo-Croatian, and understand a bit of Portuguese and Spanish. Other things to note We have twelve lovely and playful furry friends for company: two German boxers (Tara and Yuna) and ten cats (long story), all of whom roam freely and often make us laugh. Both of our boxers are friendly and playful, but if you are afraid of dogs or allergic to cats or would like to bring your own pet, Quinta dos Sorrisos is not the right choice for you. Our hens are laying delicious organic eggs in brown, beige, white, green and blue. They wouldn't mind if you took a peek at their Chick Inn, and we would be happy to sell you their colourful eggs for breakfast. Explanation of taxes on your Airbnb reservation with us: 1) 6 % TVA and 2) Olhão municipal tourist tax due a) from each guest of 16 years or more; b) for the first 5 nights only; c) 2 € per person per night from April to October and 1 € from November to March. Currently, the Airbnb system cannot yet distinguish seasonality of this tourist tax and takes it into account for each person on the reservation, including children.
