Woodend Retreat nestled in the heart of Speyside

A beautiful and tranquil setting, you will find it peaceful and relaxing. Facilities include a double bed in the main bedroom which can be split into two single beds, and a sofa bed in the lounge area. The property is a converted attic space and therefore has a sloping ceiling so be careful not to bump your head! We are in the heart of the Whisky Trail with many distilleries nearby, so a visit and a wee dram is a must! A peaceful and tranquil setting with stunning views of Ben Rinnes, which is very popular for hiking. Aberlour is, 4 miles away with local shops, pubs and distillery. The property overlooks The Spey with ample opportunity to book for fly fishing weekends. Please note that access to this accommodation is via a staircase which would not be suitable for people with disabilities. There is currently no safety stair gate at the top of the staircase leading to the balcony so young children should be supervised at all times to prevent risk of falling down the stairs. We provide safe grounds for children where they can see an abundance of wildlife, feed the chickens and throw the ball for our friendly dog Finn, our other dog Nala can be a wee bit shy. We also have outdoor games such as swing ball, boules and croquet if they wish to play in our orchard area. Many beautiful places to visit locally within a 20 mile radius or less of stunning coast line, safe sandy beaches and many historic castles to say nothing of the numerous distilleries on the door step to sample the odd wee dram or two. WE ARE IDEALLY SITUATED IN THE HEART OF THE WHISKY TRAIL NOT TO MENTION THEIR FESTIVALS AND HIGHLAND GAMES. Guest access The accommodation is easily accessible via our driveway signposted 'Woodend House' and 'Woodend Retreat'. Cars can be parked on the extensive driveway in front of the main bungalow. Motor cycles or bikes can be parked under the balcony in gravel area, or garaged on request. Hiking equipment can also be stored in a secure area. The accommodation is via the staircase to its own front door. Key-safe near the butterfly decoration on the wall by front door. The balcony is very private with outstanding views and garden furniture available for use. A gas BBQ is also available on request to be used on the balcony at a cost of £10 for the whole day/eve. Other things to note Please note, we do not offer breakfast and there are no cooking facilities in this accommodation, only a toaster, microwave and kettle with some tea and coffee provided. There is also a Nespresso machine with a small selection of coffee pods. A small fridge is also available. BBQ and Fire pit available on request for a small fee. Our situation is quite rural, a mile from local village of Archiestown and four miles from larger town of Aberlour situated on the Spey. If you like walking it will take you around 40-50 minutes from Woodend retreat to Aberlour, with all amenities including pubs, Chinese takeaway, church, library, doctors surgery, pharmacy and several beautiful shops selling a variety of foods and traditional gifts . Aberlour distillery and Walkers Shortbread factory are also part of this picturesque town . If you have a car the town of Elgin is only 12 miles away . Information on many of the local places to visit are available inside the annex. No pets are allowed in this accommodation.
