The space Overview The space has a clean, Scandinavian and homey feel to it. From the living room the views of tree lined streets and the abundant light give the place a very spacious and comfortable feel. The flat has a very warm atmosphere and forms a unique hideaway in the centre of the lively and beautiful Pontcanna neighbourhood. I fondly refer to my flat as "the bird house" as you feel like your on top of everything in the tree-tops with the birds, looking down on what's happening from above. As of April 2024 a new stone effect bathroom has been fitted offering further modern comforts and style for guests. Living Space The living area is designed with clean lines, featuring a neutral color palette of soft whites, warm blues, and gentle greys, accentuated by natural wood tones. A low-profile sofa invites relaxation, complemented by a modern coffee table made of wicker wood, which ties in with the nature-focused aesthetic. Soft, ambient lighting from the fire place and salt lamp creates a cozy, welcoming glow in the evenings. Kitchen and Dining The open-plan kitchen seamlessly flows from the living area, featuring sleek white cabinetry with hard wear in matte black. Everything is neatly organized, with cookware, utensils, and tea and coffee options tucked away, keeping the space clutter-free. Bedroom The bedroom embodies pure tranquility, with desert-inspired shades of white and light taupe. A textured, woven ceiling lampshade serves as the focal point above the bed, while a small salt lamp, casting a warm, gentle light for nighttime reading. The room’s minimal aesthetic enhances the space’s sense of calm. A single large window, adorned with a blackout blind, allows views of Sophia Gardens. Bathroom The bathroom, newly fitted in April 2024, is a spa-like retreat, tiled in neutral stone with chrome fixtures. A contemporary shower, round sink, and shelving add to the zen ambiance. Plush white towels and backlighting provide just the right amount of comfort and practicality. Guest access My flat is the top (second floor) in a Victorian house conversion. There is on street parking, Pontcanna is a lottery with parking spaces, I've never had an issue finding a parking space on the occasion that I get a hire car, my visitors have also found spaces. Worst case scenario there is the Racket Club on Ryder Street that I believe is unpoliced. My flat is accessed through a black side-gate, when entering the building and going upstairs my front door is to the left (to the right is my lovely neighbor Steve). Other things to note If you cannot find on street parking then you can contact the Pontcanna Racket Club and speak to them about using their car park. This is 3 mins walk from the apartment.
