Description
Clovelly Cottage is a traditional granite cottage full of original artwork and colour. It has spectacular views to St Michael's Mount from the two rear bedrooms and has a private garden. Parking is easy in the small hamlet and the cottage is just 15 minutes walk along quiet lanes to Mousehole, arguably Cornwall's prettiest fishing village. The coast path, stunning beaches, Minack Theatre and prehistoric sites are within easy reach, making it an ideal base for exploring this unique landscape. The space Clovelly Cottage is a spacious and comfortable three bedroomed granite cottage, built in 1852, with a huge fireplace and wood burning stove. It is over flowing with original paintings, textile art and mosaics, making for a truly unique holiday experience. It has two double bedrooms, both with spectacular views across Mount’s Bay and a single front bedroom which looks over fields to high moorlands beyond. The cottage is surrounded by delightful countryside and offers easy access to local footpaths, the coast path and the amenities of Mousehole, Newlyn and Penzance. Parking is usually possible immediately outside the cottage, in a large layby. There is a good sized living room with exposed granite walls and massive granite fireplace. The kitchen/dining area is well equipped with fan oven, grill, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. There are two toilets and the bath has an electric shower above it. The large rear conservatory is a delightful space for breakfast, quiet reading or an after dinner snooze! Electric heaters are provided in all rooms, except the conservatory. Logs/kindling for the woodburner are widely available in St Buryan or Penzance. Please note that Clovelly Cottage is self-catering – we do provide tea, coffee, milk and biscuits but not breakfast! Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the cottage, including the conservatory and we do not accept pets. Parents of infants and young children should note that there is an exposed wood burner and unguarded stairs. Electric vehicles - please note that it is NOT permitted to charge electric vehicles at the cottage. We always try to pop over shortly after guests arrive to check that all is well. We only live 10 minutes away, so can be on hand quickly if needed. Please note that guests are asked to vacate by 10am on their check-out day, so that we have time to thoroughly prepare the cottage. Other things to note Clovelly Cottage is popular with families during school holidays. Early booking for these dates is advised. If the dates you are interested in are unavailable, you might like our other cottage near Sancreed, listed on Airbnb as 'Ancient granite hay barn just 4 miles from the sea'. It's also lovely, but it is smaller, sleeping up to 3 guests.
