Eco cottage, private property in protected area

Cottage with private property, situated in the heart of the most beautiful natural park of Preveli and Kourtaliotis Kanyon, protected area Natura2000 in Crete in Rethimno. An off-grid, eco retreat for who appreciate the rustic life and who want to spend a vacation deep in the heart of the beautiful natural park of Preveli and Kourtaliotis Kanyon and the most beautiful beaches all around, Preveli-Palm Forest, Skinaria, Amoudi,Damnoni, althought not far from Plakias touristic area The space My little house, 60mq, is situated on 5 hectares of private land, full of palms and olive trees. Very close to the most beautiful beaches of Sud Rethimno and Preveli with its famous Palm Forest backdrop. Only 200 metres from my house starts the waterfalls of kourtaliotis sources, which flow through the canyon and reach the sea at the Palm Forest beach. You can enjoy swimming in the river that distance only 200 m. from the house or in the exotic beach of the Palm Forest (2 chilometers) Another exotic beach, Skinaria, is only 2 kilometres from the house, then follows the beaches Amoudi, Damnoni and then Plakias - a great place for nightlife. You can reach the river by walking or you can book an excursion with a local guide (and his safari car!) Climbing,diving and horseriding are also possible in the area. A well-furnished supermarket is within 300 metres of the house, but if you prefer you can ask a local merchant with traditional cretan fresh products to visit you once a day with his van. It’s also possible to source fresh organic food (fruit, veg and eggs) from our neighbours or to visit one of the most important biological farmers in Greece (not only in Crete)nearby the house. Have a nice getaway reaching the river source near by the house and get fresh mountain drinkable water. Then have a walk and visit the strawberry garden an exotic place located on the road to Preveli , where you can taste the biological guices of strawberries and bananas and fresh biological eggs as well. Near my house are the villages of Mariou and Myrthiou where you can dine at the most amazing restaurants, all with panoramic views. Live totally and completely the experience of visiting the most beautiful island of Greece, with good food, natural life, music , culture and summer beaches! We have a lot of tips that we can share with you so you can have the most authentic Crete experience possible. We decided to make this house an off-grid, ecological retreat . It is powered by solar panels from which you can charge your computer, mobile phones, etc, but with proper use of the solar system for save energy for the night. The charger is a car charger lighting connector of 12v and we provide powerdrivers where you can insert the cabbles . There is no microwave and cooking is done on a gas cooker or on a barbeque that can be transform also in oven. We provide internet -wifi as well. We will be always available to help and give you the best tips for experiencing rural life in Crete but also informations for the best places that only few expert people knows. This year we plantend for our guests also other trees like lemon trees, orange trees, bananas, watermelons, melons, strawberries etc and a vegetable garden with salads, onions, egg plants,cucumbers etc. Feel free to plant and water your salad as well! The rest of the field of the house is real botanical garden full of the famous herbs of Crete that grows naturaly like thyme, savory, sage, oregano, menta, rosemary, dictamnus etc and aloe, full of benefits that you can add on your meals, you can enjoy cups of herbs infront of the incredible view of the cretan mountains or you can moisturize your body and your face with the plant of theraupeutic aloe! Romantic evenings are waiting for you under a wonderful night sky full of stars with candles that we provide for our precious guests. We can also provide help in finding the cheapest car rentals in advance. My cottage is for you if you want to, ideal for nature tourism, particularly as regards bird watching and exploring the island’s botanical treasure troves and come into contact with local environmental and cultural values. Guest access The whole house is consisted of a unic space house that includes everything(kitchen, salon and dinner room and the bedroom -toilet as well with inside shower) and a much smaller wooden room attached to the main house, that can be used like an extra bedroom for extra guests . there is an extra shower outside and a wonderful bath tap for relaxing also outside. There is a huge balcony with view that you can eat as well as includes a big table and you can cook on barbeque or you can use it like oven as well. There is also a hammock and a huge outdoor bed and another single bed under the olive tree. It has been also created another second place with a big table especialy for the morning breakfast under the shandow of the olives in the morning . You can have a shower outside or you can use the outdoor bath for relaxing moments under the palms with view . The house is powered by 12vsolar pannels and there is a charger on the wall that permits to charge your phone and ipad. In case you need a pc then you can use the 230v sochet but only for pc not for heavier appliances like hairdryer etc. In the house there is wifi and hairdryer that works with 12v .Towels and all kind of pots are providen. There is a friger that works with solar power and a gas modern cooker as well that you can also grilled on that or use it like oven. You can drink drinkable water from the tap outside and there is solar heater for the water. On the door and on the windows there is mosquitonet and above the bed as well. There is also bleutooth for lishening music and the aircooler tool as well. Lighting Candles and incences for mosquitos are also provided. Other things to note Preveli river it starts from kourtaliotis gorge and finish to preveli beach. We are in the middle and 200 m from my house is the access to the river. Attention: in this house is given solar pannel energy just enought to charge your mobile phone or tablet. Is provided with 4 solar pannels and two batteries of 100amps each. there are alternative sourse of lighting like gas lamps, candles or solar lens. The car is nesessary non only in my house but in general in Crete because is a huge island and the distances are long between one beach to another. Ofcourse if you want to live in the area without mooving so much then is possible: i can order the food for you in the house, like vegetables and oil or you can reach the nearest supermarket that is atleast 20 min walk in a distance of 400m aprox. In the case of no car, you can reach by walk the river in 10 min and you can swim in the fresh water. In the house are coming cats that usually live into the wild. Cleo is my preferable and the tourists love to feed her. The cats are so friendly with the childs as well. i would appreciate so much if you could give some water and food to them during your stay. I will be willing always to give you the best tips of the area, to share secrets with you and to help you in everything you need. I can order for you the best biological oil of the area, the best fresh biological vegetables that can be delivered directly into the house. Fresh, local cheese is availble as well in certain days of the week. Covid 19: We would like to let you know that your safety are our priority. We reassure you that all necessary measures and precautions will be taken, through increased care and flexibility during your stay. We will follow with big responsability the sanitation and disinfection protocols that we have been advised from various resources, as well as the Hellenic Health Organization (EODY). A meticulus disinfectant cleaning (with clorio as well even thought we are Eco),according the list that Airbnb and the other protocols provide and demand will be done between stays and before the arrivals and ofcourse we will keep the house emply for at least 24 hours before the new guest will arrive. we ensure you as well that we will follow any request of you and we will answer to all your questions about all your worries. Remember the house is isolated and most safe than anything else during the touristic season. Hospitals ofcourse you have nearby, like the hospital and center of health in the village Spili.
