Description

Hellesvean Cottage is an old granite build with original granite fireplace and beams. Situated at the top of St Ives a short walking distance from town centre, beaches, bars, restaurants, bus stations and coastal paths. The space Located on the South Western fringe of St Ives, Consol, Hellesvean is a residential area dating back to 1818 known for the mining of Copper ore and black tin. The early granite cottage lies a stones throw from the old mine, hugging the B3306 road to Zennor. Getting around from the cottage is easy, the First Group bus service stops just 20 yards from the cottage door in both directions, heading into Penzance/Zennor/Sennen/Lands End or into St Ives town Centre. 200 yards from the cottage is the local shuttle bus service with long stay car park should you prefer, ferrying passengers from the all day parking to the town centre. Taxi service numbers are all provided in the cottage itinerary with many local taxi drivers living opposite in Joannies Avenue they all know the cottage for pick ups/drop offs. A 15 minute walk down the hill will see you on St Ives harbour front, from here everything is accessible from restaurants to shops and cafes. Should you not find what you are looking for and wish to branch further the local train station, bus station and taxi rank all reside here too. Other things to note The cottage is situated on the fringe of St Ives hugging the local B road linking St Ives to Penzance, Zennor, St Just and on to Lands End. The popularity of these places, their local attractions and historic significance within the area means at times of year these B roads can be busy. It should be noted that the cottage resides along this road (see picture) so guests with young children are advised to practise caution and utilise the rear/side entrance to the cottage when necessary. Those who are sensitive to road noise should also be advised.
