Enjoy the seclusion of this Catskills farmhouse nestled in wooded acres. Five miles to waterfall hikes in Minekill State Park and eighteen to the ski resorts of Windham and Hunter mountains. Relax in the hot tub or simply sit outside and enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. The house is a restored 1880s farmhouse. It is light, airy and has an overall great vibe to it. It is the first house off of a beautifully wooded winding road. The views from the house are picturesque and can be enjoyed on the patio or in two screened in porches. All parts of the house and lawn are accessible, including the deck, grill (BYO charcoal) and hot tub. We can be reached by phone, text or email at anytime during your stay. We will not be in the area during your stay but we can send someone by if any issue occurs. The farmhouse is close to activities in all seasons. There's hiking, snow skiing, fishing, kayaking, a water park, local breweries and farmers' markets as well as great restaurants nearby. The closest town is Prattsville (8 miles) which has a grocery store, wine/liquor store, ice-cream shop, cafe and a diner. Schoharie Reservoir (1 mile) - fishing and kayaking (rentals at Nickerson Campground or Minekill State Park) Minekill State Park (5 miles) - kayaking (including rental), hiking, frisbee golf, free municipal pool, snow-shoeing, ice-skating, snow-sledding and cross country skiing Town of Roxbury (12 miles) - charming hamlet in the Catskills Barber's Farm (17 miles) - local farmer's market on the weekends, family run since 1857. On the way to Middleburgh Windham (18 miles) - ski resort along with many great restaurants like Windham Local and Chicken Run Zoom Flume (18 miles) - family friendly water park Green Wolf Brewery (21 miles) - in Middleburgh, a local microbrewery also serving local wine Hunter (22 miles) - ski resort with tasty restaurants like Prospect at Scribner's Lodge The area is remote so a vehicle will be necessary. There is a bus servicing Windham (from NYC and other places). It's 18 miles from our house to Windham. The house is a three bedroom but there is a fourth bedroom off of one the bedrooms which has a day bed and a trundle bed (great for kids!) The master bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. There is a large projector in the living room for you to enjoy movies. There are two screened-in porches, one with a table that seats ten (perfect for outdoor dining). The hot tub seats six (great after a long day of skiing or hiking). We have a Pack N' Play and queen sized air mattress as well which you can use. The stairs as it's an old farmhouse are steep.
