Close to the Salto del Nervión, the Gujuli Waterfall, the Delika Canyon and the Altube beech forest, and neighbouring Gorbea Natural Park, it's the closest accommodation to these iconic Basque landscapes. This centuries-old farmhouse has been carefully restored, preserving original materials such as stone, tilework and old doors, alongside restored traditional furniture, creating an authentic and unique atmosphere. It's a place that wins people over with its character, warmth and respect for its surroundings. House Features Sleeps 10, expandable to 12 with extra beds. 5 double rooms and 4 bathrooms, spread over two floors: on the ground floor, a double room with private bathroom; on the upper floor, a suite with a double bed and bathroom, a double room with bathroom, and two rooms sharing a bathroom. Sustainable measures in place include the use of renewable energy and biomass heating; restoration using local materials and traditional techniques; electric vehicle chargers available on request; efficient waste and energy management; collaboration with local producers; and a permaculture project — the bird sanctuary woodland. Bird Sanctuary Woodland One of the farmhouse's most special projects is the creation of a Bird Sanctuary Woodland, designed as a refuge and feeding ground for local and migratory species. Located right next to the property, this space supports biodiversity conservation and is ideal for observing birds in the wild. Nature, Activities and Wellbeing Surrounded by three protected areas of the Natura 2000 network (Gorbea, Arkamo-Gibijo-Arrastaria and Urkabustaiz), Etxea is the perfect starting point to enjoy hiking, Nordic walking and self-guided trails; birdwatching and wildlife spotting, including foxes, roe deer and badgers; visits to traditional old wolf traps (loberas); local gastronomic experiences and cooking workshops; and courses and activities centred on wellbeing, nature and Basque culture. Accessibility and Services The ground floor of the house is accessible for people with reduced mobility via a ramp (though it is not fully adapted). A fully adapted studio is also available on the same property as an alternative for those who need it. Pets are not permitted at this property. Guest access Guests have access to a green area with hammocks and a porch, as well as an outdoor dining table and chairs. The front garden area of the house is for guests' exclusive use. The Bird Sanctuary Woodland is a shared space used by all guests staying at the farmhouse, and is subject to certain care guidelines and access rules to help protect it. Other things to note From Ulle Gorri, with the boots on, we can carry out numerous routes, all very beautiful and suitable for all types of walkers. It is a privileged area for large walkers who can join different routes and continue the journey as long as they wish. The routes that we propose, with the help of Iñaki, will allow you to know our closest surroundings and the customs, histories and traditions that make it so special, with or without canes of nordic walking and always enjoying that special moment that brings us The nature in its purest state.
