Ulle Gorri is a sustainable rural house (reg: XVI00132), set in a beautiful natural setting. This charmingly restored traditional farmhouse holds Ecolabel certification. A Bird Sanctuary Forest has been created. Ideal for families or groups who want to enjoy the nature and charm of the area. Located close to the Nervión Waterfall and at the foothills of Gorbeia Natural Park, it’s perfectly situated to explore the Basque Country. We are part of the Ecotourism Association and Queer Destination. The space «Etxea», which means house in Euskera, has been specifically restored recovering old original materials, to give the home a unique personality that seduces our guests. The restored antique furniture, the magnificent doors and the precious earthen pottery, which belonged to an ancient palace in the area, make Etxea at Ulle Gorri a very special place to rest and enjoy. The stone house , with capacity of maximum 12 people, can also be rented partially, from 1 room to its 5 rooms depending on its availability. It has a large living room with a fireplace, a beautiful kitchen and 5 double bedrooms with 4 bathrooms distributed across two floors. On the lower floor a bedroom with a double bed and an ensuite bathroom. On the upper floor a suite with a double bed, a bathroom and a small hallway, a bedroom with two single beds and ensuite bathroom and then two double rooms with two single beds. The rooms on the top floor have views over the countryside. Both the interior of the house and the outdoor area with a fantastic meadow with fruit trees and a flower garden, are equipped to allow your mind and body to rest and to be able to enjoy everything without stress: listening to music with a selection of CDs, read books or magazines and take a look at maps and tourist information of the area. TV and free WiFi are available. There is an exterior parking area for 3-4 cars. Ulle Gorri is a special place for the Fine Arts: there are actually some nice pieces from MH Art Gallery in Bilbao and impressionist photographs by Ana that adorn the walls. The farmhouse has a beautiful field of fruit trees, with outdoor garden furniture to enjoy the nature at its most, with hammocks and place to sit to enjoy the sunset. . The farmhouse is surrounded by three natural spaces of the Natura 2000 network: Gorbea Natural Park, Arkamo-Gibijo-Arrastaria mountain ranges and the oak woods of Urkabustaiz. It is a magnificent enclave for birdwatching : around 160 pairs of vultures nest on the walls of Arrastaria and it is one of the few places where Royal Kites can be watched in a great number. From our rustic farmhouse, we want to offer a unique stay to travelers who want to discover the Land of the Basques, from a different perspective (not just a tourist). With the aid of a local expert host who will go with you on this exclusive journey to know our culture, traditions, local festivals, history, heritage and the most beautiful places of this land that we love so deeply.
