Lake front living, light & airy beach house decor; fully furnished, wooden dock, several outdoor decks. All 4 bedrooms face the lake with walk-out doors from every bedroom to decks. Primary bedroom king bed en suite located on first floor. Home featured in Lake and Home Magazine, Sept 2025. We are a LICENSED rental, a legal requirement in Otter Tail County that many short term rentals do not comply with. PROTECT YOURSELF: Make sure your Hosts are licensed to comply with this law. The space Lake front living at its best; light and airy, open concept floor plan with California beach house decor & vibe. Gorgeous lake views from living room, dining room, kitchen and all 4 bedrooms. Fully furnished home. Seasonal dock for water access, large first floor decks and upstairs lake-facing veranda deck. All bedrooms have walk-out French doors (2nd floor) or large sliders (main floor Primary bedroom) that lead outside. Outdoor stairway leads from 2nd floor veranda deck down to first floor deck. 2.5 bathrooms: (1) downstairs tub/shower combo in Primary bedroom en Suite (2) the second floor bathroom has a large walk-in shower plus (3) a main floor powder room is located in the west hallway across from washer and dryer. Auxiliary optional sleeping area (in addition to the 4 bedrooms): Upstairs loft has three small twin folding style beds (loft beds are scaled to and more suitable for children than adults). Note; Use of auxillary sleeping areas does not grant Tenant a waiver of the 8 person maximum occupancy, but provides options for children sized fold out beds in the loft area. Minimum 7 night rental period in July-August, with Saturday check-in and subsequent Saturday check-out, but please inquire since we strive to be flexible where our schedule permits, particularly if you stay exceeds the 7 night minimun stay. We also may have future dates available that we have not yet officially opened on our Airbnb calendar, so please ask if you see a week or month blocked that you are interested in. PRIMARY BEDROOM on the first floor has spectacular views right from your king size bed (Sealy Posturepedic hybrid mattress). This bedroom has large sliding door access from the Primary Bedroom to the deck sitting area facing the lake. There is a built-in dresser with a "smart" TV tucked behind cupboard doors in this primary bedroom. Powder room for guests is located on first floor, across from Laundry Area (electric washer/dryer). White cabinets in kitchen with ocean blue colored cabinets in the side bar area with built in under-counter microwave. KitchenAid dishwasher, range, refrigerator. Kitchen is fully equipped with dishes, utensils, glasses, coffee cups, wine glasses, pots and pans and necessary appliances. There are 3 upstairs Secondary Bedrooms on the 2nd floor, each with French doors facing the lake with access to a covered (but open air) upstairs balcony deck. Two of the upstairs bedrooms have queen beds (new mattresses 2024) and the largest upstairs bedroom has two XL single "twin" beds (new mattresses 2024); these XL twin beds can be pushed together into a King size configuration. The outside staircase at the west end of the upstairs balcony leads directly down to the first floor main deck. The lakeside outdoor stairs are accessible from all of the upstairs bedrooms. (There is also an interior staircase serving all 3 of the 2nd floor bedrooms). 2nd Floor has 1 bathroom with large walk in shower to support the 2nd floor bedrooms. Well maintained, spacious grounds, located 3/4 mile+ from Highway 20 for privacy and minimal traffic noise. ENTRY: Front glass door entry area opens to a well appointed Kitchen off of a small step-down exterior courtyard area. Outdoor north entry courtyard sitting area with bistro table/2 chairs plus a second small sitting area for morning coffee, right off the kitchen's north facing windows. LAKEFRONT DECK: The lake facing first floor deck has a gas grill and small bar are tucked under the 2nd story balcony for protection from rain when grilling. The large first floor Deck that faces the lake is accessed off the living room sliding doors and includes outdoor dining table, chairs, shade umbrellas, chaise lounges, plenty of seating, outdoor bar, with propane gas grill. Separate small sitting area with wood fire pit off immediately to the west of the deck near boat house on top of smaller brick deck, under the adjacent shade trees which are adjacent to our western property border. Firm sandy bottom lake bottom with gentle sloping beach and minimal weeds and wooden dock great for swimming & wading as it is not terribly deep for average height adults. (Swim shoes recommended for stability/safety as the sand naturally gets more vegetation growth in later summer heat). Water quality conditions and weather conditions may vary and are not within the Owner's control. Bring your own boat or rent a boat or pontoon locally and tie up at our private dock. Tenant may borrow our two kayaks from the water side boathouse/shed to enjoy paddling on the north shoreline or launch your own kayaks or paddle boards. (Note: We do NOT provide boat lifts). Guest access Our Private Dock is available for fishing, and boating; We provide 2 kayaks, a gas grill, small outdoor bar, outdoor dining table that seats 6, plus a smaller "Chat" table with 4 chairs, umbrellas and 2 chaise lounges, near a fire pit with 4 chairs. Upstairs balcony has 5 chairs plus end tables for drinks or candles. Access to the lakeside facing deck is via the Living Room & also through the 1st floor Main Bedroom, both of which face the lake. Four bedrooms (1 downstairs and 3 upstairs). All 3 upstairs bedrooms open via French doors onto long veranda facing the lake, with outdoor stairs leading directly down to the lower deck & lake. Downstairs bedroom has large sliders giving access directly outdoors to the deck and the lake. We comply with all County licensing requirements for the safety and welfare of our guests. We do not provide boat lifts but Guests may arrange to deliver their personal lift(s) to our dock for use during their stay, with notice to Owner. Additional sleeping area options include three small fold-out twin beds in the loft (ie., two fold out ottomans and 1 foldout lounge chair) that make into small size single beds. These loft accommodations are more suitable in size for children than adults. Use of these small loft beds do not increase the maximum 8 person occupancy limit. The Truman Lake House is accessible to miles of wooded hiking trails in area; some trails are paved and some are gravel. We are located approximately 1.5 miles from Wildflower public golf course and Fair Hills Resort, which has coffee bar, snacks and occasional casual dining and Sunday brunches during Summer. We are about 3 miles eastr of Pelican Lake's Zorbaz Pizza and Mexican Food restaurant, bar and entertainment and we are about 5 miles from Parallel 46 R restaurant and the Cormorant Pub/Boathouse Restaurant located in quaint Cormorant Village, where a general store has bait and gas for sale, a liquor store and several boutique gift and clothing shops including The Village Bungalow shops. The Roadhouse,and Ella Marie’s, are within several miles of Coromorant Village and The Cornfield Cafe is located in Dunvilla inside of the Lakeland Tru Value store, where propane and gas is also available. If you bring a boat, you can boat to the Zorbaz dock and tie up for lunch or dinner if you don't want to drive your car there. We are a 10-15 minute drive to WE Fest Soo Ranch and are approximately 15 miles south of Detroit Lakes. We are located approximately 48 miles from Hector International Airport in Fargo, ND. We are situated on a quiet beach 3/4 miles away from Highway 20 in the beautiful north shore beach area known as Gosslee Beach, Big Pelican Lake. Other things to note In addition to the terms of rental set out in the Airbnb website, Tenant must sign the Truman Lake House Lease Agreement. In case of a dispute the terms of the Truman Lake House Agreement shall prevail. Request a copy of the Agreement to review through the Host question contact area on the Airbnb website. A Security Deposit of $500 must be made payable by check directly to Owner with returned signed Lease Agreement. A copy of the Lease Agreement will be made available by the Owner/Host at the time your booking is confirmed. There is a $250 non-refundable cleaning fee which is collected by Airbnb. There is a 61 day in advance written cancellation required for full refund. TENANTS WHO CANCEL less than 61 days before check-in date will forfeit 100% of their $500 Security Deposit. No refund can be cancelled less than 61 days before occupancy; however IF we have open weeks to shift your vacation into if you cancel your original booking, we will try to accommodate you on alternate dates at Owner’s sole discretion, and depending on availability of the desired alternative week. Please note, summer weeks book quickly and there may not be alternative weeks available should need to cancel, so please obtain vacation interruption insurance in case you need to cancel your trip less than 61 days before occupancy date. Nightly Rates DO NOT include the required MN and Otter Tail County sales tax of 7.375% .Airbnb has contracted with the State of MN to add this mandatory sales tax to the rental prices charged and Airbnb remits the taxes directly to these taxing entities. OCCUPANCY for 2026 is limited to 8 persons, including children and infants. Note: There are adult sized beds for 8 people. (1 king, 2 queens, 2 single beds in 4 bedrooms.) Our 2026 License from the County authorizes 10 people; however, notwithstanding this license maximum occupancy, OWNER LIMITS THE OCCUPANCY TO 8 PEOPLE, including children and infants. (We do not supply cribs.) There are 2.5 bathrooms in the lake house and one of the two full bathrooms is part of the downstairs primary bedroom en suite. This means that 6 people in 3 upstairs bedrooms typically use the one upstairs full bathroom, with overlap users needing to use the downstairs powder room. This is a NO PARTY HOUSE rental; only quiet gatherings of Tenant and their guests are permitted in order not to disturb the adjacent property owners. Cancellations within 61 days prior to check-in shall forfeit Tenant's Security Deposit. 2026: During the busy summer season we rent on the following TERMS: 7 night minimum stays, from Saturday check-in 4 PM and subsequent Saturday checkout 11 AM, unless OWNER waives this requirement, in its sole discretion. Contact Owner to discuss feasibility of weekly spans that originate on days other than Saturdays. We require a Saturday check-in at 4 PM and a Saturday check-out at 11 AM on the (final) Saturday of your stay, in order to allow adequate cleaning time between the time you leave and the following guests check-in time at 4 PM. Late check-out requests cannot be honored unless there are no guests from any source arriving on your check-out date and our cleaning service is available to clean later hours on your departure date in order to accommodate your late check-out request. All late check-out requests are evaluated on a case by case basis and are determined in the Owner's sole discretion. We have a comprehensive Getting To Know You Guest Guide available to email for your review along with your contract that provides all pertinent information about the house and the immediately area, including wi-fi passwords, appliance instructions and warranties and other helpful information.
