Description
Daily rate is for a couple using the king bedroom. If you want to use an extra bedroom, it is $30 per person per night. Book at the extra person rate. Modern cottage in traditional Queenslander style, just a few minutes drive to the beach, to cafes, restaurants and retail shops. Relax on our organic fruit farm with stunning views to world heritage rainforest. There are little touches to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Plenty of room for families. The space *It's all yours including the 2 bay car port with lighting. Plenty of room to park a boat which makes being only 1km to the beach very handy. It's surrounded by open spaces down to the seasonal creek. The views of the world heritage rainforest and mountains are breathtaking. 144 square metres with 3 bedrooms - one with a King bed (main bedroom room), one with a Queen bed and one has a single bed. Large, spacious and fully equipped kitchen with a gas stove, pantry, dishwasher and microwave. Kitted out with crockery and cooking utensils, it's a cook's delight! The windows are all screened, there are fans in every room, even the bathroom. The home is elevated; a true queenslander, allowing breezes to circulate underneath, and through the home, keeping it cool. There is also a large air conditioner in the main lounge room, helping keep the house cool. There is a large 4 metre deck off the living area and a balcony that runs along the bedrooms. For families, there is lots of open space around the house for kids to run around on and some amazing fresh water swimming holes during Summer on the property and nearby to enjoy. Kilometres of walking tracks up the mountain for the adventurous. Guest access You are welcome to walk on the mowed headlands on the farm. The headlands refer to the area around the crop and farm boundaries. Follow the headlands along the seasonal creek, through organic bananas and advocados, along the edge of rainforest and through an avenue of trees. Casper, the farm dog, may come and say hello but he is very friendly. We also currently have chickens and baby chicks on the farm. More animals will be added as we build the farm. There are lots of little area to explore; see a scrub hen's nest, swim in the seasonal creek. Other things to note We provide milk for the first day. Sitting on the deck is great for viewing birds, butterflies, insects, wallabies and sometimes a glimpse of a cassowary. It's quiet at night and with very low light pollution here, you can see the stars and at times vivid sunsets behind the mountains. Local Activities Walking Tracks: There are bush walking tracks in varying degrees of difficulty within the area. Beach activities: The beach is approximately 1km so quite an easy walk. You can hire a small boat, go island hopping, visit the reef with local operators, go crocodile spotting. Adventure Sports: Jump the Beach (Parachute) Visit a chocolate factory or have a drink in a country pub at El Arish - (see if you find the poker machine). Local swimming holes 15-40 minutes away to keep you cool in the warmer months. Local Markets are on the first and third Sunday of the month all year round. Monster markets are on the last Sunday of the month between April and December. There are numerous cafes and restaurants, and some beautiful and different clothing stores. Mission Beach is a great base for visiting the Tablelands, Innisfail, Cardwell.
