Quiet, rustic, country cottage apartment, surrounded by Lone Star ranch. Sleeps 5, 2 bedrooms, 3 beds (1 in common area), 1 bath, fully equipped kitchen, comfy living room and dining, private drive and entrance. Outdoor dining and eight acre yard. Gorgeous views! 15 minutes to Casper, boating, swimming, fishing, hiking, shopping, fine dining. North Platte River & EK State Park 8 minutes away. 30 min to Casper Mtn Rec Area "Magical, peaceful, wonderful, hideaway" are some of the words guests have used to describe their stay here. Naturally cool in the hot summer and cozy warm in the winter, you'll be comfortable in this tucked away spot! The 8 acres we're on are surrounded by Lone Star Ranch, making for a very quiet, and private stay. We can comfortably host up to 5 people. You'll have the whole apartment. We live upstairs. The apartment is a lovely walk out basement. It's very quiet and cozy. Just outside the door, you'll be able to enjoy shaded dining at the picnic table. A wildflower garden is just beyond the edge the patio, overlooking our yard and the surrounding ranch. In the common room you’ll see a little studio set up where Ginny sometimes teaches painting workshops. There are two bedrooms, one with a pillow top queen size bed and a featherbed topped double bed in the other bedroom. You'll also find a single bed tucked under the stairs for a very cozy spot. The bathroom has a shower. This relaxing, rustic space has all the necessities for cooking and dining, including dishes, small appliances (a toaster, blender and food processor) and utensils, both cooking and dining. We've provided coffee and tea. There's nothing like a good cup of coffee in the morning. You'll find spices, vinegars and oils for cooking as well. Just bring your fresh food. We have 2 cats, Tip and Itsy, who live upstairs with us. We don't let them in the apartment. They’re very friendly and you can visit with them outside. You have access to the whole apartment, (not including the storage/utility room) and the 8 acre yard, including Muddy Creek which winds through the back section of our place and lots of mowed walking paths. You can picnic by the creek or enjoy outdoor dining just outside your door. We like to welcome our guests when checking in, and are always ready to visit. We also realize you might be tired and not feel like socializing so that's fine too. The surrounding area is wide open space with rolling hills, trees along the river, a creek meandering through the back yard and the trees we've planted. The creek is home to a pair of Blue Herons that show up every year. Mule deer, and Whitetail deer, wild turkeys, and pronghorn antelope are frequent visitors. The last couple of years we've seen Sand Hill Cranes here also. We have a few neighbors across the road from us, but not visible from your space. The little town of Glenrock is 10 minutes east of us and the city of Casper is 15 minutes west of us. Glenrock offers a few places to eat. Casper has lots. Both places offer unique shopping. Our favorite Glenrock supper restaurant is The Paisley Shawl. Our favorite coffee shop in Glenrock is The Copper Leaf Creamery. You'll find a guidebook showing some of the restaurants, museums and points of interest, for your convenience. Rental cars, taxi service and Uber are available in Casper. Check in time is 4-8 pm and check out is 10am. We are half way between Glenrock and Casper. Please use the directions to our place. I will send them to you after you book. Often a GPS cannot find us and you will get lost. I will also be happy to send you the Map pin if you send me your cell phone number.
