Description

Judith’s Hut is a quaint, sweet little stone cottage. Perfect for couples. Fully self-contained with well equiped kitchenette, and ensuite. Very comfortable queen bed and a sofa bed. Stunning panoramic views of the surrounding gum trees, creek line and majestic mountain range. A beaut little slow-combustion fire place to keep you cosy and warm. The outdoor area has a BBQ under the verandah and fire pit for Winter time use. Self- Catered Accommodation. Linen & bedding supplied on request. The space Kookaburra Creek is 10 kms north of Melrose, situated at the base of Mt Remarkable. Our privately owned/family run Retreat is set on 80 acres of picturesque bushland. Abundant in wildlife, with endless natural beauty. There are easy, short walking trails on our property. The Melrose to Wilmington Rail Trail bike track passes the property, giving a pleasant easy ride into town. There are also a network of Walking and Bike Trails being built in the National Park, right next door! Our Retreat offers a variety of unique and creative accommodation options available for couples, families or groups. We can sleep up to 20 people, more if sofa beds are used or you bring along your camper vans and tents! For more info on our Retreat and our other accommodation types please visit our website. 'Kookaburra Creek Retreat.' Guest access Guests can have an outdoor fire in the fire pit right next to the Hut. (To be used during non Fire-Ban season only. 15th April- 1st Nov) Campfire wood can be purchased from us for a small fee. Guests can feel free to explore our 80acre property. There are a couple easy, short walks, ranging from 30-45mins return. Other things to note Linen only supplied on request- As we totally rely on our own water catchment, and with the additional water carting during the current climate conditions, please let us know if you’re able to help us reduce our water use, by supplying your own linen and bedding.  If supplying your own please provide sheets, quilt, pillows and towels. Linen and bedding can be supplied on request if unable to supply your own. Full linen hire including sheet set, quilt plus cover, pillows plus covers and towels- Once off linen hire applies $30/person. Please let me know how many require bed settings I will adjust the booking for you. What we supply- Toilet paper Hand wash Tea towels, dish detergent & dish cloth/scourer Complimentary tea/coffee/sugar for the first day Bath mats & hand towel Blankets & mattress protectors Indoor fire wood & matches The sofa bed can be used if travelling with children. It unfolds to 2 narrow single mattresses. The Retreat is accessible to most types of 2WD vehicles if driven with care. The road is un-sealed and a little rough and stony in places. Please drive at 15kms or less along the track, as there are many kangaroos along the way and it is a shared use road with walkers. As we are situated on a bush property, it is best to try to arrive during daylight hours for ease of finding your way. If arriving on dark please let me know so I can send a mud map.
