Our guesthouse is a quiet green oasis in the busy center of Maputo City. It's nice for couples, solo travelers and small families; consultants and business people like the GreenGate because it's quiet, safe and comfortable. For those who are traveling to or from the beaches, our guesthouse offers an excellent transit site for an overnight stay. On walking distance you'll find interesting historic buildings, the city craft market, a botanical garden and a variety of restaurants. You can do the Mafalala neighborhood tour, or walk along the beautiful "Marginal". From the GreenGateGuesthouse you are also close to Maputo's bridge that takes you to the beach in the Catembe area or, if you want to continue, to Mozambique's most southern point, Ponto d'Ouro with its beautiful beach and crystal clear water. On the other side, up-north, equally a bit more than a one-hour drive from the guesthouse, you will find the Macaneta beach. Guests have a private access to their room; there is a small terrace next to the room, also for private use by guests. I like to receive my guests and use the arrival moment to tell them a bit about the guesthouse, the neighborhood and the city of Maputo. Guests that come by car can park within the premises without extra costs. Our guesthouse is in the very Center of Maputo city, close to Independence Square, the iron house and downtown Maputo with Fortaleza, the Rail Way station and the Central Market. Maputo is poor in public transport and parking is a serious problem (though not in the weekend). Taxi's and tuc-tucs are available and some are working around the clock.
