We are right in the centre of Stone Town; Forodhani Gardens and the port are minutes away. It's an amazing neighbourhood - lively, full of people and part of the authentic city, surrounded by historic buildings - less 'touristy' than most parts of town, and only a short walk to the sea and all other areas. The space The 2 rooms are within a recently renovated 3 storey house with a sitting room area, shower and toilet, and kitchenette on each floor as well as bedrooms. The kitchen is small, but has everything you might need for basic food & drinks preparation - a fridge, a hob, microwave, knives, etc. There are so many nice places to eat out - from very cheap local delights to more pricey gourmet restaurants, that we've equipped for people who will be out and about mostly! Guest access The guest areas are in the middle floor, with access to the other areas, as you come in the front door and one sitting area is immediately to your right, then up the stairs to the kitchenette, bedrooms, sitting area, and up again to our part of the house. We do have a lovely roof space, but as access to this is through our apartment at the top, we do ask for access to this to be limited to day time. During your stay We like independant guests! But I'm very happy to give some advice and put you in contact with wonderful guides, etc. My relatives live in town and will welcome you and are also really helpful. Other things to note Don't forget that we are in Africa and un-announced electricity or water outages can happen. We get used to this, but for visitors it can be a bit of a surprise.
