This newly furnished guest house is the ideal place to stay and visit Picardy Wallonia. Close to Pairi Daiza (7 km), Ath (5 km) & S.H.A.P.E in Chièvres (3 km), it's perfectly equipped for short term and long term stays. Get cozy by the pellet stove in winter or comfortable with air conditioning in the summer. The guest house is also fully powered with solar energy. The space Our bright and welcoming guest house is divided into two 40m2 floors. On the ground floor you'll find a well-equipped kitchen (stove, oven, microwave, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, toaster) where you can easily prepare meals for up to 6 guests. In the open living/dining space, there is a collapsible table easily configured for the number of guests. The couch doubles as a real double bed featuring two twin mattresses. A hightop table with two stools and an excellent internet connection make working from the guest house a pleasure. The first floor includes two bedrooms plus a full bathroom. The first bedroom is an open mezzanine at the top of the stairs that features a comfortable queen-sized (160x200cm) bed. The second bedroom is an enclosed space with also a queen-sized bed. All bedding is brand new. While we take great care in cleaning our space, our region does have extremely hard water which has been tough on our bluestone shower. Guest access There is a secure keypad to enter into the common entranceway shared with guests from our other Airbnb. Each of the two Airbnbs has a second keypad with unique codes to access the units. There is free parking in front of the house as well as a bus stop (line 100A) that connects Ath and Saint-Ghislain. The Maffle train station is 15 minutes away by foot and brings you to Cambron-Casteau where there is a footpath to Pairi Daiza. You can easily take a day trip by train to Brussels or Mons. Other things to note Extra pellets for the pellet stove are stored in the front closet. If you're unfamiliar with this kind of heating, please let us know and we'll be happy to explain how it works.
