Description

PLEASE NOTE: AWD/4WD RECCOMENDED IN WINTER MONTHS FOR ACCESS TO PROPERTY DUE TO STEEP HILL This home sits at the end of a private road, 5 miles from Mt. Snow, as well as many hiking trails. This 4 bed, 2 bath home provides breathtaking views of the river valley for a well earned reprieve after a hard day on the slopes. For your convenience, there is a complete kitchen, as well as a full size washer and dryer. Inside you will find a wood-burning stove to cozy up after a long day on the slopes. The space This home is the perfect destination to get away any time of year. We are just minutes from Mt. Snow, Green Mountain National Forrest, and the quaint town center of Wilmington. The home sits at about 1800 ft above sea level, so you will be able to take in the fantastic views while you enjoy your stay. The space is divided into two floors. The upper floor hosts the common areas as well as a full bath, and the bottom floor contains the 4 bedrooms. There is a convenient mudroom as you enter the front door, which contains racks for skis, snowboards, jackets, and any other gear you have brought along. The bottom floor contains 4 bedrooms and a full bath. Two of the bedrooms feature king beds. The third bedroom contains a queen bed. The final bedroom has a queen and two single beds. All bedrooms are equipped with TVs, firesticks or rokus, fans, hangers, and shelves for clothes. The top floor is mostly an open space area. This is where you will find the living room with multiple couches, blankets to cuddle under, a wood stove, another TV, and the amazing view overlooking the river valley. This space also features a large dining room table to eat, play, and enjoy good company. The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, dishes, flatware, and utensils. No one wants to do dishes on vacation, so a dishwasher is included as well for your convenience. There is additionally a full size washer and dryer included. The house is situated at the end of a private dirt road with ample parking. This provides a nice quiet location to fully enjoy the peace and quiet that Vermont has to offer. We do recommend AWD or 4WD during the winter and mud seasons, as there is a good incline on your way up to the property. Other things to note Wood Stove Directions 1.  To start a fire, make sure flue is open (pull out small silver handle below the door). 2.  Arrange wood so air can circulate, putting one or two fire starters at the bottom or in the middle of the logs so the flames come up onto the wood. 3.  Light the fire starters and swing the door closed until there is an inch gap. Use the bellow to stoke the fire through the gap. The bellow is your friend and persistence is key! 4.  Leave the gap for airflow until the logs have completely caught and the fire is roaring, then close the door, turning handle clockwise to secure. 5.  Once the fire is hot and established, you can close the flue (push silver handle in) and turn on the fan (switch is on back of stove) to get more heat into to the house. Be careful, the stove is HOT. Enjoy the fire! 6.  Before checkout, let the fireplace cool completely. Scoop the COLD ashes using the metal shovel hanging near the stove into the metal bucket labeled “ashes”. NEVER use anything other than the shovel and bucket to empty and hold ashes. Replace the lid on the bucket. If the ashes are not completely cold, place the sealed bucket outside on the deck. Close the stove door and flue before leaving. If the ash bucket is full, contact us for further instruction. Do NOT dump hot ashes outside.
