During your stay We live just next door behind a small forest (100m) so we can assist you very easily. We as travelers of our own are also happy to assist you to get to know our beautiful area better! We also like to tell you about the local history Other things to note The town, Parainen (or Pargas in Swedish) is located 23 km from Turku, the oldest town in Finland, its former capital and today a flourishing industrial and financial center of Southwest Finland (with 480 000 inhabitants). Parainen, the gate to the great Archipelago Sea and its tens of thousands of islands and islets has just over 15 000 inhabitants. Former municipalities Nauvo, Korppoo, Houtskari and Iniö are now annexed to Parainen. Almost 60% are native Swedish speakers and the rest speak Finnish. However, most of the people are more or less bilingual. English is also spoken widely as a foreign language. Parainen is also the starting point to the Archipelago Trail, a ring road system combining both roads and ferries together. During the summer months (June-August) a daily ferry connection from Houtskari to Iniö closes the whole trail.
