Did you know that the boatmen on the Szczecin Lagoon have lived in wooden houses for centuries? We have taken up this tradition. The Bootsmannshaus has a very individual furnishing, which we brought from trips around the Baltic Sea. The private NORDICSPA, consisting of a Finnish sauna and a hot tub, lets you relax wonderfully. You book one of the 4 houses here after internal availability. The decor of the house may differ from the photos, but the style is always the same. ------------ The key of the house is deposited next to the front door in the key box. Upon departure, we ask you to leave it there again. The code will be sent prior to arrival. We have additional services that you are welcome to use. They are: wine from the wine rack in their house, bathrobes use and firewood for the Nordic Spa. We will provide you with a price list where you enter the things you use. We will send you these costs via Airbnb after departure. Guest access The boatmen who sailed out into the world from our natural harbor on the Haffkähnen gave our two houses their names. Each Bootsmannshaus consists of two halves of the house for up to 6 people each. You can also book a second half of the house if you are up to 12 people and open a connecting door. Relax with long walks by the water or in the adjacent pine forest. In our natural harbor just 500 m away, you are welcome to use our rowboats. How about a rowboat tour into the most beautiful sunset on the Baltic Sea? The fishing village of Rieth with its 148 inhabitants is a very special gem on the Szczecin Lagoon. As soon as you drive into the village, you will be greeted by brick and half-timbered houses of Western Pomerania as well as well-kept cottage gardens. It's reassuring to know that you have to drive back the only road that leads into the village. There is no through traffic. Arriving at the village green (men's garden) with its ancient chestnuts, you will see the former "Gasthof zum blauen See" (Inn to the Blue Lake), whose exterior has not changed for 150 years and is now a holiday home. Opposite is the smallest museum in Germany, the Riether Heimatstube with exhibits from the Szczecin Lagoon and the Baltic Sea. If you continue into the village, you will pass the former village school, half-timbered church, former forester's lodge and a few meters further Rieth Castle. Then you reach the natural harbor with sailing and fishing boats, traps, nets. From here you can take a boat across the lagoon to the Baltic Sea. Now it's just a few meters to the beach. The forest swimming area is especially ideal for children, as the water only gradually gets deeper here. The wide view over the bay to the lagoon is often interrupted by the flight of sea eagle pairs. The call of the cranes from the surrounding meadows heralds an intact nature, as it is rarely found. Culinary, Rieth offers you a small vegetarian restaurant in the Gesundhaus Klatschmohn and a café with homemade cakes. In summer, the saxophone-playing fisherman always organizes a smoking evening right on the water on Friday evenings. You can arrange with him which fish he should prepare for you for the next few days when you light the grill. But the region also has a lot to offer. The Riether Winkel and the entire Szczecin Lagoon are located in the middle of the "Szczecin Lagoon Nature Park." Here you can take the most beautiful cycling and hiking tours "Around Lake Neuwarper." The rental bike will be delivered directly to the vacation home. A cutter takes you across the lagoon and you can discover the island of Usedom on the horizon. How about a cooking class or vegetarian spreads and fresh bread in the Gesundhaus Klatschmohn, a horseback ride at Fennhof Ludwigsburg or a trip to the many small and original lagoon beaches from Altwarp to Ueckermünde. You can also reach these via a bike path if you don't want to use the car. The Riether Winkel region and the entire Szczecin Lagoon offer you a fantastic relaxing holiday in untouched countryside between forest and water, far away from the tourist hotspots. Other things to note The best way to reach Rieth is by car (rental car). The closest train station is in Eggesin. From here you can take a taxi for about 15-20- Reach Rieth. Please note: if you arrive by train, there is no grocery store in the village. These would have to be ordered online in advance, e.g. at mytime or purchased before starting the taxi ride.
