Friendly apartment in Cabo de Gata - Almeria

La Isleta is a little meidterranean village in the very heart of the Cabo de Gata Natural Park. With snorkeling and diving facilities and clubs, good restaurants and the best sunsets of the Park. A good place for relax. The apartment is full equipped. ideal for families. Beach distance: 150 mts. 30 Kms. from international airport of Almeria. The space About the Cabo de Gata Natural Park Remember you are in a Natural Park. More info about the Park in wikipedia "Parque Natural Cabo de Gata" This park is a desert and volcanic park. So, first of all, I remind you that you are going to the desert. Main landscapes are desert mountains and stones. Unfortunately the last years are a lot of tourism especially in summer. “Virgin” BEACHES Today “virgin” means no facilities (showers, bar, life guard…), no more. In summer time they are full of people. I strongly recommend you to arrive soon (09:00am) and depart soon (12:00am). If you want to go in the afternoon then the bet plan is to arrive late (19:30pm) and depart late (21:00pm). MONSUL Y GENOVESES ***** Car needed. Access from San José. Main beaches of the Park. You have to pay 5€/day to park the car. Too much people in summer. In this area there are other beautiful beaches you have to arrive walking (1/2 to 1 hour walk): Cala El Barronal, etc. EL PLAYAZO**** Car needed. Access from Rodalquilar-Las Negras Road (15 mins from La Isleta). Be careful with the car. Sometimes a lot of traffic in the access. I strongly recommend you to arrive son (09:00am) and depart son (12:00am). At left there is a trekking track (signalled with white-blue marks) that allows you to ascend to La-Molata (near Las Negras) with nice views. Guest access BEACHES IN TOWNS These beaches have a lot of services and they are good if you go with kids (you can hire boats, there are beaches, medical care, etc.). PLAYA DE LA ISLETA** No Car needed. Access from La Isleta. Little beach. I recommend you to do snorkelling near the mountain (alert: wear shoes sea!!, there are sea urchins). PLAYA DE SAN JOSE**** Car needed. Access from San José (15 mins from La Isleta) Very good. PLAYA DE AGUAMARGA*** Car needed. Access from Aguamarga. (35 mins from La Isleta). Is far from La Isleta but it is very nice and perhaps the most “chic” place of Cabo de Gata. If you go there consider to lunch in the restaurants of Aguamarga. RESTAURANTES – Places to have a drink La Isleta Pizzeria ISOLETTA*** en La Isleta. Good Pizzas. Good paellas and fishes. LA OLA****. Book in advance. Best fishes and rices (paellas, dark rice…). The Pensioner's Home ***. Near the apartment. Fishes and Paellas. You can book in advance and take away to the apartment a “paella”. Alert.- El Hostal has a very nice terrace but it is not a good restaurant. I recommend you to have a drink in the afternoon in the terrace, beside the sea in see sunset, but I don’t recommend you to have a dinner there San José Pizzeria IL BRIGANTINIO **** . Italian food. Restaurante casa Sebastian****. Fishes. Dinner. Book in advance. Alert.- The restaurants besides the port are not good. Touristic restaurants, expensive and not good. Las Negras I recommend you to spend an afternoon/evening in Las Negras and have a dinner there. The pizzeria is good. The restaurants besides the beach are also good (the roof restaurant is a bit expensive). El Manteca**** . Book in advance Rodalquilar Quiet place. You can have a dinner in any of the reestaurants there. I recommend you a little place called “Taberna El Faro” TRIPS – ONE DAY GRANADA 2.5 hours from La Isleta. A must if you don’t know the city. Book in advance the Alhambra Tour here. Sunset in Mirador de San Nicolas. MOJACAR – Aquavera water park 1 hour from La Isleta. Nice village. Nice sunset. If you want you can spend one day at aquavera water park and to visit Mojacar ancient village in the afternoon/evening. LAS ALPUJARRAS AND SIERRA NEVADA NATIONAL PARK 1 day of car trip. Very bad roads. You will need more than one day if you want to visit the tipical villages (Capileira, Pampaneira) TRIPS – HALF A DAY THE SALINAS AND CAPE GATA LIGHTHOUSE *** 30Kms from La Isleta. Good beaches. Good restaurants. Visit the Cabo de Gata lighthouse. And mermaid reefs. You can also see flamingos in las Salinas. NIJAR** 20Kms from La Isleta. To buy tipical souvenirs from Almeria (ceramic, jarapas…) and Morocco. Nice to spend an afternoon there.
