The space The space and surroundings In the middle of the Zeeuws Vlaamse polder near the fortified town of Hulst lies our house. Three minutes by bike from the Westerschelde. Ideal for peace seekers, boat lovers, cyclists, hikers and where creativity can be stimulated. You can also attend the sculpture and silver casting workshops here. Antwerp and Ghent are 40 minutes away by car. P&R is easily accessible outside the cities. Ghent free shuttle bus + parking. Antwerp parking is €1, near the tram station. The large guest house above the studio of sculptor Luc Ingels is simple but equipped with all modern comforts. There are two single box springs, a luxury sofa bed (160 cm wide; mattress 24 cm thick), and behind the curtains there are a number of modern beds. The bathroom has a new walk-in shower, a toilet and urinal, and is also equipped with a double natural stone sink. In the kitchen area, there are two refrigerators, a Senseo, a Nespresso, kettle, induction hob, plates, cutlery, etc., and there is free WiFi everywhere. Towels and bed linen are also available. There are several nature reserves in the area. The Putting is one of the few real old land areas that Zeeland still has. It already existed before 1200, and in 2014 an additional expansion of 100 hectares was realized. It is a bird area par excellence. There is also the Drowned Land of Saeftinghe and near Terneuzen the Margarethapolder as a new nature reserve. The famous and controversial Hedwigepolder is within cycling distance and open to the public. Hulst is the nearest larger municipality. It is a well-preserved fortress town with original fortress walls and with nice shops and restaurants. There are also some good restaurants nearby. The renovated pier at Walsoorden is a good vantage point to watch the large boats sailing on the Westerschelde. The largest ships in the world pass by at a distance of only 100 meters. Highly recommended is the Waterbus (45-minute boat trip) from Fort Liefkenshoek across the Scheldt to the center of Antwerp. It sails every half hour. Guest access PLEASE NOTE: there are stairs!! Parking in your own free parking lot. Then through a wooden door and steel stairs to your private roof terrace, and through a sliding door you can enter. This also serves as your own entrance or exit. Other things to note Minimum stay two nights.
