"Our small riverside terraced cottage boasts an idyllic view across the River Calder and Rochdale canal and up onto the wooded valley sides. Built in 1860 for workers at the nearby cotton mill, this home has many period and original features. Whether you are cooking in the kitchen, relaxing in front of the wood burning stove, laying in bed or luxuriating in the gorgeous feature bath, there is a stunning view to be seen from every window. If you are lucky you may see an otter or mink swim by. The space Our home is small and cosy with many origional features. The floor of our living room has been made from reclaimed sliced beams from the nearby wool mill and is approx 200 years old (please take off your shoes and clean any spills immediately) We have a beautiful wood burning stove oven, which can be used on request. Our bathroom over looking the river and canal has a volcanic fibre bath tub which means the water will remain warm while you take in the views. Other things to note Take a stroll along the canal towpath towards Hebden to see the local natural history and beautiful canal side gardens. The first pub you will reach after a 10 minute walk is Stubbin's Wharf.The kitchen serves a large menu of hearty meals (the portions are large and very good value) and the friendly bar serves a wide variety of guest beers, ales and ciders
