Petrovac is located on the coast between Budva and Bar. It has a 600 metre long sandy main beach, and quite a few smaller but more beautiful beaches. Some of these beaches are only accessible by boat, so you can relax in total privacy. The history of Petrovac began in Roman times, when a couple of villas were built at Krš Medinski: a 4th-century mosaic floor (50 meters from Villa Mila), remains of a villa and baths have been found behind St Ilija's church. At the northern end of the bay is a 16th-century Venetian fortress, Kastel Lastva, built to discourage pirates. The name, Petrovac, was given at the beginning of the 20th century after King Peter I Karađorđević. In the bay are two islets (Katič and Sveta Neđelja), one of which is topped by a small chapel, built in thanksgiving for a shipwrecked sailor's life. Petrovac offers a wide selection of food and drinks from Montenegro and Italian cuisine with prizes awarded for the best chefs and restaurants. There are plenty of different places for you to try and enjoy. If you're a fan of sandy beaches, boats, water, fishing, snorkeling and diving than Petrovac is for you. Petrovac is a small town, so you will get around easily. Grocery shop, restaurant, bar, pharmacy and ambulance can all be found within 50 meters from the Villa Mila. Bus, and taxi stations are 150 meters away and offers connections to Budva, which is 18 km away. Nearest airport is Tivat 39 km away. Podgorica airport is 47 km away. Good things to know about Petrovac: Beaches are clean with clear blue water, and safe for swimming.
