Description
Apple Tree Cottage is a charming Cotswold stone cottage, located right in the heart of Winchcombe with country pubs and shops just a stone's throw from the front door. Located on the most photographed street in the ancient Anglo-Saxon town of Winchcombe. We a few items when you arrive including my homemade jam! The cottage living room ceiling is quite low (as is traditional) so taller guests may wish to factor this into their stay The space Apple Tree Cottage contains 2 bedrooms (1x kingsize & 1x standard double), an upstairs shower room, a fitted kitchen with integrated appliances (inc microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, undercounter fridge with freezer drawer) and a restyled, cosy sitting room with fully functioning open fireplace (with additional undercounter fridge with freezer drawer in side cupboard), plus wifi throughout the house and a Sony TV. The cottage is packed full of character features such as original beams and inglenook fireplace, with a relaxed, cosy country atmosphere. The property also boasts a substantial rear garden, which has sun throughout the day – ideal for lazy afternoons and evening barbecues. The cottage has a maximum of 4 guests (this number includes children and infants). We do accept well behaved pets, we ask that they are not left unattended in the property, that they are cleared up after in the garden and kept off all soft furnishings (including beds, sofa and windowseat) The substantial garden space really sets the property apart from its neighbours with one of the largest gardens in Vineyard Street, you can watch the local birds feeding from the boughs of both the apple trees, pick some herbs to accompany your supper or simply enjoy the rose garden. There is a large garden terrace, complete with sofas & chairs for summer lounging, plus a BBQ with complimentary charcoal supplied in the summer. From November-April we provide a welcome supply of logs and coal for the large, open, inglenook feature fire (if you need more during your stay there are shops just a minute from the front door!). Plus all our guests receive a complimentary welcome pack which includes essential such as milk, bread, butter, biscuits, my homemade plum jam, plus our family owned British Polo Gin & Tonic. Guest access As guests you will have full access to the entire property, including the garden Other things to note Rather unusually for Winchombe, there is street parking right outside the property. Although it is not private, there is always usually a space available and there is a large car park (Abbey Terrace) with free parking for two hours just around the corner – but personally we have yet to have any issues parking outside Vineyard Street. There is additional parking at the end of the street leading up to the castle gatehouse if needed - so generally there is usually a space to be found! We have a 2 pet maximum at the cottage, there are plenty of lovely walks from the town and we have a fully enclosed garden (lawn and patio). Please note that we do not provide towels or travel cots for infants, so you will need to bring these with you. There is not much space for larger travel cots in the bedrooms.
