Traditional, cosy detached country cottage

Built in the 1890s, and completely refurbished in 2021, Holly Cottage is a traditional and cosy one bedroom detached cottage in the grounds of our home. We are located in the hamlet of Standford, where Hampshire meets the Surrey and Sussex borders. We are situated in a quiet, peaceful location, on the edge of the South Downs National Park, with great countryside for walking and cycling – including the beautiful Waggoners Wells, Devil’s Punchbowl and Blackdown. The space Holly Cottage is within the grounds of our home; secure and gated, with off road parking in our main drive. Please note that a car is essential to get around the area. The entire cottage is for your use for the duration of your stay, and is laid out over 2 floors, with the bedroom and shower room upstairs, a fully equipped kitchen (with oven, hob, fridge, microwave and washer/dryer) and sitting room downstairs. The sitting room has a large smart TV, sound bar, fast internet access (FTTC) and a desk (should you need a place to work), with an easy access HDMI connection to the TV. Please note that the bedroom can be set up either as a SuperKing, or as twin beds. Please let me know your preferences at the time of booking. Alternatively curl up on the comfy sofa with a magazine or a book from our library of books and board games - there for you to enjoy at your leisure. On a sunny day, you can open the sitting room French windows and sit outside on your private patio, overlooking our large garden and woods beyond, for a serene breakfast, or for an indulgent glass of wine in the evening. The patio has an outdoor table and chairs. There is also a Weber bbq which we can provide for your use on request. Guest access Holly Cottage is within the grounds of our home; secure and with automatic gates. Parking is off road, in our main drive. We are 3 miles from the A3 junction at Liphook to the East, and Bordon 2 miles to the West. Liphook train station is on the Portsmouth to London Waterloo line and is 3 miles away. Heathrow Airport is a 45 minute drive, and Gatwick 1 hour. Other things to note Please note that a car is essential to get around the area.
