Description
My house is situated in Fairacres Road, located off the Iffley road. The characterful property is dated from 1900, with original features. The floorboards are somewhat squeaky. The road is a controlled parking zone and I can provide one 24 hour permit. However, I do prefer guests to find alternative parking during their stay. Buses run every 10 minutes to Oxford from the Iffley road or it’s a 20 min walk to the historic city centre. There are also electric scooters to hire close by. The space A cosy single bedroom at back of house overlooking garden. You’ll have a small wardrobe and empty chest of drawers. I am currently sprucing up the room and you will have a desk, black-out blind, rug and ample new lighting. All the bedroom linens are high thread count cotton. I also provide towels which will be changed weekly along with bedding. Cleaning day is usually Thursday. Guest access Access includes the first floor shared bathroom, adjacent to your bedroom. The large kitchen with table and chairs is where you will be able to prepare some light meals. You will have your own cupboard and also a fridge in the adjacent music room. I don’t provide breakfast I’m afraid, although please help yourself to tea and coffee. (Plus oil etc) There are some nice cafes nearby or buy your own bits for breakfast from the Coop or even Hamblin bakery on the Iffley Road. There is a clothes washing room next to the Music room. Plus the Iron and Ironing board. During your stay Happy to advise in anyway and meet in kitchen to chat. However I keep my sitting room as a private space. Other things to note You can use washing machine and tumble drier during your stay. Please feel free to play the piano in the sunroom. Enjoy the garden if the weather is fine. Please recycle and place plastics and paper in the blue box in back garden. (I will move it to main bin out front) There is also a food bin for scraps in kitchen. Feel free to interact with our family cat 'Herbie'! I am close to renowned restaurants including the Magdalen Arms and lovely cafes in Magdalen Road, (known as Magdalen Village), like the vegetarian Green Routes, Eli's Deli Thai takeaway and cafe (formally Oli's Thai), Taste Tibet and Missing Bean. I would also recommend the Chester Arms Pub; their infamous steak platter is superb! We are close to the river which is delightful and you can walk along the tow path to town or to Iffley Lock. The Isis Farmhouse pub has a charming garden next to river with live Jazz once a week. (Open Thursday-Sunday)
