Surrounded by red bricks, custom cement tiles, and steel frame windows that overlook the mesmerizing river and enchanting bamboo forest, you'll awaken to the gentle caress of the morning sun and the soothing sounds of the nearby stream. This cozy retreat in the lower compound has been thoughtfully designed with meticulous attention to detail, featuring original artworks by renowned German contemporary artist Ole Ukena. Embrace rainy days by immersing yourself in our carefully curated selection of documentaries and films, available on the large media center. Should you require additional studio space for an art project, we are more than happy to accommodate your needs. Guest access During your stay, you'll have access to your private room, ensuring utmost privacy. Additionally, we have a spacious studio area where we occasionally host communal dinners. If you need a dedicated workspace, feel free to use the communal desk. If you require access to the larger art studio and more than a communal desk, please let us know in advance as we often have artists working and preparing exhibitions there. Currently, our focus is on embroidery, textiles, and watercolor, and we have a talented team working on these projects. You may notice some machines running during the day if we're producing a series or collection. The art studio is always shifting and changing so its hard to keep fully updated photos which you might understand as a creative. We also provide a communal kitchen that you're welcome to use. We kindly ask that you leave it clean after each use. And for those seeking a bit of outdoor relaxation, we have a delightful bonfire place where you can gather around and enjoy cozy evenings. Whether you want to roast marshmallows, share stories, or simply bask in the warm glow, our bonfire area offers a perfect spot for relaxation and camaraderie. We hope you have a wonderful time exploring our creative space, utilizing the communal areas for work, and enjoying memorable moments around the bonfire. Other things to note ***PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY*** (really tho, don’t skip this part for your own good) Our residency is tucked deep in an alley near a panoramic rice fields, so the last 400-500 meters are only reachable via motorbike/scooter or by foot if you have light luggage. Even the narrowed-down street that you have to pass to go to our place have this sign that says “NO CAR from here on”. This ensures that we have complete tranquility in our little tropical paradise but the Taxi drivers won't drop you off in front of our door. That's why we highly recommend you to arrange transport with us at least A WEEK BEFORE YOUR ARRIVAL in case you'd like to get a smoother journey into our compound. As we live in the middle of nature, we do have dinosaurs, giant elephants, geckos, unidentifiable bugs, frogs, etc. Well okay, the first two is a rare sighting. Our point is: let’s be realistic. You will be living in a forest, and we have no 5-stars-hotel kind of luxury or a 24-hour concierge (at least not yet). If any of the AIR family is there, we will probably be able to help you fight a giant spider and throw them out back to their habitat. But if it’s off-hours (after 4 PM) and there’s nobody there, you can only rely on yourself and the facilities we provided for you, which is actually quite a luxury to have in the forest. If by now you’re already scared reading these notes, we suggests you to book a place that suits your character and preferences better, and they’re usually more nearby to the city center. There you go, we just helped you even before you booked us ;) Also in case you didn’t know, the tropics are HUMID. Ubud is especially more humid compared to other areas in Bali during rainy season. We do have dehumidifiers in some of the rooms but just know that this is how it flows here. We can’t change the climate nor do we ever want to. You gotta be OK with this when you come to Ubud.
