Guest suite in Kent

Step into a lush evergreen garden to feel the laid-back essence of the Pacific Northwest. Only for 2 adults without any mobility or balance issues, as it's a hillside property with stairs and steep ramp. Entire floor 600 sq.f. with separate entry, kitchen, covered patio, secluded backyard. Rainier NP 3 h to Olympic or N.Cascades NP Easy access to I5, SR167, SR509, HW99. The space Safety, privacy and well-being of our guests is our top priority. We want to thank you in advance for putting your trust in us as you plan for future travels. You definitely need a rental car to get around, but the location is perfectly centered to any sightseeing place in the Pacific Northwest part of Washington State. Please pay attention that our street is very steep and the property is on the hillside with terraces, so it’s some exercises getting from your car to the Suite entrance. The short way is by stairs but there are no hand railings. The way around the house is little bit longer, but not so steep and it has a boardwalk and railings. The property is fully fenced and has the gates. It’s a ground level Suite with its own separate entrance, which is on opposite side of owners entrance - offering guests true privacy. We are a quiet family couple and live upstairs, so you could hear our steps and sounds of living (only in the living room) even though we try to be very quiet. We don’t have any pets. Please note that you will see us from time to time outside maintaining the yard or watering plants. Guests will enter the home through a separate entry sliding door, giving access to the entire lower floor level. As you enter the lower level via the entry door, you will walk into the Living Room. • Living room: sofa, workplace with office chair, PC and table lamp, coffee table, ottoman, large 55’ high definition Roku TV with cable Xfinity TV and access to Amazon prime, Hulu, and local channels if you have your own account. We provide access to our Netflix account. • Kitchenette includes a sink, electric cooking surface with 2 burners, hood, dishwasher, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, kettle, rice cooker, mixer and Keurig style coffee maker. Mostly all necessary dishes are available in the kitchen cabinets. Also you can cook outside on a propane grill burner. Dining place: IKEA table and 4 chairs. • Bathroom: The bathroom includes a shower, toilet and vanity. We provide a bunch of towels, and a laundry basket for dirty towels. • Bedroom: We offer a comfortable queen size bed with Sealy Response Performance Gray Cove Firm Queen Mattress (purchased in April 2019), 2 night-stands, smart TV, chair and a closet. There are two windows with blackened curtains. We have a central house heater and keep 68 degrees during the day and 66 during the night in winter. Unfortunately, it could be operated only from our floor. But if it’s not warm enough for you, feel free to use the wall heaters that let you set a comfortable temperature. We do ask to turn the heater off when you go outside for longer that 2 hours. There is an air conditioner with split ductless system and also we provide fans for each room for summer time. • Outdoor Patio: The guests will have their own private covered patio with a cafe style table and chairs, Crate&Barrell sofa with cushions. An addition - a newly built lower deck with grill and a designed space for smoking. A small fountain and the seasonal plants add Zen and tranquility. A swinging egg chair let you relax reading a book or watching the birds. Guests have their own propane grill with one burner on the lower deck. • Backyard is well maintained and clean. We feed squirrels, birds and hummingbirds. It could be fun to watch birds or a persistent squirrel finagle its way to the bird food. You can watch a few neighbor’s cats, wild raccoons or opossums as well. Mostly private garden with terracing, lots of lovely plants and flowers. Guest access Street parking is available in a designated area. It is free, safe, and well-lit with streetlights along the hedge of our property. Please note that our street is very steep, so be sure to follow parking rules for downhill parking. You can park along the street near the hedge behind of our white truck (if it’s there) or choose any other convenient spot on the street. To reach the property, you have two options: 1. Stairs (Shorter Route) - Use the stairs to the left of the main entrance to the house. They are lit for 4 hours after dusk. - Please note the stairs are steep and do not have railings. 2. Boardwalk (Longer but Safer Route) - Go to the right around the house and use the boardwalk. The boardwalk is lit from dusk until 11 PM. - This route is slightly longer but features railings for added safety. - Boardwalk can be slippery when wet. The key is located in a self-lock box mounted on the wall near the sliding door. Other things to note - Our street is very steep, and our property has heights, terraces, steep ramp and stairs without railings, so it’s not for people with any mobility issues. - The boardwalk ramp and decks could be slippery when wet, especially in early mornings during winter time. - We have cameras: 3 - in our front yard, 2 - in the backyard, and 2 is on our gates toward a street parking spot. - We live upstairs so you could hear our steps or voices in the living room. The room above your bedroom is not occupied. - We feed birds, hummingbirds and squirrels. - You can see cats on our property, they are not ours, just from the neighborhood. They're here to watch birds.
