Private outdoor amenities. Internet. Large open covered outdoor cooking and eating area lawn and fire pit. Sunset fireplace on the tideline. The Studio is beside and at the back of the main beach house. Enjoy the quieter Southern end of Moreton GETTING HERE PLEASE NOTE THE EASTERN AND WESTERN BEACHES CHANGE WITH NO WARNING. TAKE CARE. Be wary of the Eastern and Western Beaches as they can be treacherous if you get the tides wrong. Knowing the tide times is an important factor to consider. The best time to travel is around low tide (two hours either side) when the beach is at its widest and sand at its hardest. As a general rule, avoid driving two hours on either side of high tide. Maps of the Island can be downloaded from the Qld National Parks website 4WD vehicle is necessary Book ferry and car permit before booking accomodation The entire island of Moreton is over 240 kms of sand and only accessible by 4WD. Because you will be driving on soft sand, we recommend 4WD vehicles with high clearance and low range function. Tyre pressure 16 is advisable. Inland track conditions deteriorate DRIVE CAREFULLY By Boat Safe anchorage at front of accomodation •Jet ski •KayaK Directions to accomodation The Studio on the Esplanade 103 Kooringal Esplanade Kooringal Travel by Ferry from Lytton Brisbane to Tangalooma wrecks 90 mins Middle Road links Western bypass single two way and Eastern beach one way tracks You have 2 options to Kooringal on the southern end Eastern Beach or Western Beach behind Tangalooma Please note Tide variations * Eastern Ocean beach is 1hr 30mins earlier than tide times at Brisbane Bar * Western Beach and Day's Gutter at Kooringal is 45mins earlier than Brisbane Bar * Tangalooma is up to 40mins earlier than Brisbane Bar If you travel by ferry to Tangalooma Wrecks , turn left in northerly direction, turn into first track to the right Middle Road. Turn off to Western beach Tangalooma bypass or straight ahead for Eastern beach Choose before you arrive as this intersection is notorious for bogging. If you choose The Eastern beach at the beach exit turn right drive along the beach to the southern end approx 30 mins. You will turn right off the beach into Mirrapool bypass Track which is a single two way track. Travel for approx 1.5 klm. Follow the signs to Kooringal township. You will be on Kooringal Esplanade. The Studio is the eighth house on the left facing Moreton Bay. 103 Kooringal Esplanade The Western beach takes you around the back of Tangalooma Resort to the Western Beach. This is a single two way track. On beach exit turn left and follow the beach past the big sandhills onto the Toulkerrie bypass track and turn right into Kooringal approx 30 mins. When you reach the township you will be on Kooringal Esplanade. By Boat arrange prior to booking Safe anchorage at front of property Guest access The studio private guesthouse walking access is at the side of the main house dwelling. A large side and back lawn area surrounds the studio.Large undercover areas for outdoor cooking fire place and relaxing. Car park on beachfront Beachfront sunset fire pit Other things to note Strict remote island cancellation policy Strictly no loud parties and no pets (National Parks) Bed Linen is not provided(Covid Safe) Bath or beach towels, groceries or personal provisions are not provided All residences are solar powered and rainwater friendly. there is no mains power or water on the island No Internet access download is offered due to remote access limited data satellite service This is a sand island. 4WD access only on beaches and sand tracks. Vehicle permits are required. Aust Speed limits apply. Normal road rules apply including seatbelts. Travel at low tide. Park well away from traffic areas. Park at an angle to the water so approaching traffic know that you have stopped. Inland tracks are normally one way. Tracks can be rough allow plenty of travel time. Please note No dogs allowed in National Parks. Rangers are onsite No parties or loud noise allowed on premises. Fuel must be transported from the mainland if you intend to explore the island. Bring your own provisions and personal items. First aid kit, Insect repellent, sun smart clothing and sunscreen for your protection. There are very limited supplies on the island.
