Welcome to our traditional Finnish home! Home accommodation includes overnight stay, a versatile Finnish home breakfast, shower/toilet and a traditional wood-fired sauna. Guests can also cook their own meals in our renovated kitchen. We live in the same house as a host family and we do our best to help our guests enjoy their stay in our home. The courtyard and accommodation have lake views. The space Our home accommodation is located in the cozy, peaceful and beautiful village of Sattanen, in the heart of Central Lapland. The wide range of outdoor activities can be enjoyed directly from the courtyard. A lucky traveler may see the northern lights in the yard or even a reindeer walking on the village road. Sodankylä municipal center is 11 km away, where you will find a wide range of grocery services, restaurants and bars, a gym, a health center, a pharmacy, a cinema and an indoor swimming pool. Guest access Guests have access to all common areas as well as a bedroom that can be booked. The common areas include a dining and TV room, kitchen, large yard with terraces, toilet/shower and a traditional wood-heated Finnish sauna. Free Wi-Fi During your stay The host family lives in the same house and takes care of the guests' comfort. We speak Finnish and English. Other things to note During the summer, you can swim and fish in the nearby lake. The host family's rowing boat is available to guests. In winter, you can enjoy ice fishing, skiing, snowshoeing or walking on the lake's ice. The host family can also arrange small-scale 1-3 hour excursions to the nearby area for a different fee. Snowshoeing and ice fishing in winter, hiking in the nearby hills and forests in summer. You can indicate your interest in the trip when you make a reservation.
