The space BUDAPESTING's Super Central Quiet Jewish District Apartment has been recently renovated and can accommodate up to four persons as it has a king size bed and a good size extra sofa bed, which also sleeps 2 persons. It is very conveniently located next to Astoria station in front of Europe's biggest Synagogue. We have 24 hours check in and check out, so no problem with late arrivals or early leavings. We can even pick you up or drive you back to the airport if you wish (35 EUR/car). Renting the studio apartment, you will have your own fully equipped kitchen and the bathroom. The apartment is located in Budapest's Jewish Quarter, also known as Erzsébetváros or the 7th District, is a vibrant area with a rich history and culture: Location The Jewish Quarter is in the inner part of District 7, surrounded by Király utca, Erzsébet körút, Dohány utca, and Károly körút. History Jewish people began settling in the area in the late 18th century, and by 1910, over 23% of Budapest's population was Jewish. The area was a center of Jewish culture in Hungary until World War II, when it became a Nazi ghetto and many Jews lost their lives. Architecture The Jewish Quarter is one of Europe's few neo-classicist cityscapes, with synagogues and Jewish memorial sites featuring Orientalizing architecture. Attractions The Jewish Quarter has many historic landmarks, including the Dohány Synagogue, one of the world's largest synagogues, and the Hungarian Jewish Museum. Nightlife The Jewish Quarter is a popular tourist destination and center of alternative and hipster culture. The area is known for its ruin bars, which started with the opening of Szimpla Kert in the early 2000s. Food and drink The Jewish Quarter has many places to eat and drink, including Karaván, which offers a selection of street food. Evolution The Jewish Quarter is constantly evolving, with entrepreneurs and artists making their mark on the area. Other things to note ARRIVAL: check in is from 15.00, if earlier check in has been requested & we can manage, we will notify you, please make sure you come to the apartment at the previously agreed check in time, so as soon as you can from, as we have to welcome you in person and do the registration EXCHANGE: do not exchange money at a bank or at the airport, at the railway station or bus station also, it is a lot better to exchange money in the city center at exchange offices, you can ask the member of the Budapesting team upon arrival for the exchange office with the best rates, one EUR is about 400 HUF, you should at least get 390 HUF for 1 EUR ATM & CARD USAGE: if you decide to withdraw money from a bank machine, then make sure to use one of the official bank's ATM (OTP, ERSTE, K&H, etc.). Avoid using the EURONET and similar bankomats, even though often they are the most convenient as they are everywhere in the city, they charge you a lot more than an normal bank's ATM & also they use a worse rate for exchanging foreign currency, if you pay by card or withdraw cash and the machine asks you to charge your card in your currency or Hungarian Forints, then always choose the Hungarian money, as you will end up paying less TRANSPORT: we don't recommend to buy the Budapest Card, it is better to buy separate tickets (one ticket is one ride, not valid for more rides - single ticket - 500 HUF / 24H / 1 day pass - 2750 HUF / 72 H / three days - 5740 HUF), we don't recommend you to use the "Hop-on hop-off" tour buses, Budapest has an excellent public transport system and from our apartments you can also walk to all the sights and places of interest, with taxis, always fix the price before departing, so you will not get overcharged, BOLT/UBER is a good application to use for taxis as well PARKING: if you are arriving by car, make sure to park near the apartment on a marked, right place, where its allowed to park and put immediately money to the parking meter (HUF coins) or start PARKL, during check in we will explain you the parking options, in the center for about 20-30 EUR / day you can park in underground garages RESTAURANTS: we can give you a lot of good recommendations for restaurantsand bars upon arrival, feel free to ask the member of the Budapesting team, who will be there or me here on AirBnB for advice. Budapest has excellent value for money in restaurants if you know where to go Make sure to know what is happening in the city while you are there, we can help with that! It is important to know that it is a residential building with locals living next door. So the apartment is not for events or parties. Our most important rule is to respect the neighbors and to not to make any noise in the apartment, which can be heard outside and disturb the neighbors. Also smoking is strictly forbidden inside the apartment and in the building itself, in case someone smokes from the group inside the apartment or the building it means breaking the house rules and could cause cancelation of the reservation.
