On the edge of downtown, it's a short walk to the University, restaurants, and historic attractions. And Southern Virginia University is just 12 minutes away by car. Our home is yours to relax in and enjoy, costs less than a hotel, and provides a true Lexington experience! The space Our little home is filled with art and memories. Many of the art pieces are by friends and family members! We'll leave freshly roasted local coffee and breakfast fixings like fresh fruit, eggs, yogurt, granola, and half & half in the fridge for you. Rest easy on the large pillow-top mattresses with organic cotton sheets. Each bedroom has a flat screen TV with Roku for streaming Netflix, Disney+, and Amazon. High speed Wi-Fi is provided for Internet access. We think you'll find our cottage home warm and inviting, with easy access to downtown Lexington, Washington & Lee University (W&L), and Virginia Military Institute (VMI) by car or an easy 15 minute walk along city sidewalks all the way down Main St. Our home is available for W&L Parent's Weekend, graduation, and many of the other special events at Washington & Lee University and VMI. We are also a short 12 minute car ride from Southern Virginia University, in Buena Vista. When the weather's nice the outdoor patio furniture makes a wonderful place to have a quiet evening meal and listen to the songbirds. You may even see a deer in the backyard one morning! Just a few blocks from the historic Stonewall Jackson House, there's plenty of history right around the corner. The VMI Museum on campus, and the horse-drawn carriage rides are also a wonderful way to get to know more about Lexington. Whether you like hiking on the Appalachian Trail, paddling on the Maury River, or mountain biking at Douthat State Park, there are lots of outdoor adventures right nearby. The Virginia Horse Center is an internationally acclaimed equestrian facility with many events throughout the year, and is only a few minutes by car. There's plenty of dining in Lexington, with everything from award winning local New-American cuisine at Zun Zun, to authentic flavors of Matsumoto Sushi or Napa Thai, and many of the restaurants like Seasons Bakery and Cafe and Heliotrope Brewery offering locally sourced food! Enjoy an evening of live music at Haywood's and the creative talents of a Michelin starred chef featured at The Georges! Guest access Our home is all yours to enjoy during your stay! You'll have full use of the main floor of the house, both bedrooms, living room, dining room, and kitchen, and the outdoor areas. We will be nearby if you need anything. The upstairs and downstairs are reserved for owner use only, please stay to the main floor, thank you! Other things to note We want you to enjoy your stay, but our home is in a quiet family neighborhood, and is not the place for parties or loud socializing. Please be respectful of our neighbors, they have our number on speed dial, and aren't afraid to use it! ** No events or parties are permitted. Quiet hours are after 10 pm. **
