House with garden, Sea, Cabourg, Dives, 12 people

Next to Houlgate and Cabourg, to the beach, the port, the medieval historical center and its numerous shops and restaurants, at Dives sur Mer, with its notorious food and fish market, stands this pretty house, luminous, sunny and spacious. A garden, a BBQ, bikes (though old), and a full renovation of the house await you. A fully equipped new kitchen and 3 new bathrooms, new beds, new electricity to name a few. Housework and linen included, beds done for your arrival. Parking spaces included. The space WELCOME TO Dives-sur-mer ! We are very happy to welcome you at our place and wish you to spend a wonderful time here! some information for your stay: Parking You can Park in our alley but make sure other neighbors’ park exits are left accessible! Otherwise, Park in front of the house in our private place! Make sure the portal is fixed open when you drive your car in otherwise it might hurt your car due to the wind that is sometimes very strong here! Bikes are not new at all, and the older they get the worse it goes of course… breaks are not working properly or not working at all … You can use them for free at your own risks and under your own responsibility … they are not new but useful to me, so I try to keep them. Otherwise, you will find here under a list of good local renters with perfectly functioning ones. Security Please let me know if you use the fireplace; its whole material is highly burning once working, even the handle so please do not touch and keep children away from it. Its door must always be properly shut when working and it is to be used under strict supervision only. Refill wood and Co can be found at Weldom and supermarkets at the entrance of dives sur mer (next to Mac Donald’s) please always lock portal when leaving the house BBQ (with left coal usually in the garden hut): under supervision and your own responsibility also, and never leave the house with even small remaining burning pieces. Gust of wind and squall are really sudden and sometimes unpredictable and able to knock it over! Fire extinguisher under stairs (right ones) Thanks for taking care of all this ;-)) Kitchen bays ONLY ONE PANEL CAN BE OPEN AND SLIDE. The other one with a key locker is condemned. To open the panel: fully turn the handle from bottom to top (180°). In this position you can get in and out by sliding the door even when it looks closed. To lock the sliding bay again, turn the handle fully from top to bottom (180°), once you have slided the window entirely to its shut position. You cannot then get out or in. Kitchen - 2 Dishwashers (one with a hidden cutlery cleaning drawer at the top inside). Pay attention to the machine right to the sink: it cannot close properly if the glass drawer hasn’t been matched with the evacuation water tube at the back top inside. To match well, you need to push the front part of the drawer towards the floor and once the drawer is well inclined you can push it inside and meet the evacuation tube… - Large refrigirator - Cooktop induction - Oven rotating fan and pyrolyze. To open its door you need to pull upward the small black plastic locker above the oven door. Please extract all metallic railings/bars inside the oven, even vertical ones (easy to slide and take off), before launching a cleaning pyrolyze ; thanks ! - Washing machine to the right end - Microwave and small freezer in the red closet behind the refrigerator. - Boiler and toaster - Nespresso and regular coffee machine - Blender, bread machine, yogourt machine, cheese party device (raclette), ironer, vacuum (etc) Technical information leaflets are in the drawer of the desk at entrance. Caution! there are hidden Double drawers in the cupboards: that means for example that for flatware you must first open the pans ‘drawer, to find a quite hidden second drawer inside it, top of it, where knives and forks are…. Same hidden drawer to the right of it. Trash bin, recycling bins under the sink Help yourself with all necessary kitchen aid under the sink, and food in cupboards, etc! various The trash container is at the entrance of the alley (10 meters from the house) For glass you need to go to the glass recycling station on a large parking lot behind the Church (there are others around). To recycle use the large yellow transparent bags provided for that purpose under the sink. Once full, just drop it well closed aside the black/green trash container at the entrance of our dead-end. Before you leave, please - Try to put things back at the same place you found them on your arrival - Please clean all your dishes (and empty the dish-machine if you have the time) - Empty your Garbage - If you can ! - Thanks ! ;) A gardener takes care of the flowers and of the grass when necessary; but please do not hesitate to abundantly refresh the flowers with water when the weather is hot and dry, thanks for them they will love it, especially the bamboos! The tourist-staying tax is included in the fees you have paid for renting this house, you have nothing to do or to pay (documents herewith for your info), cleaning is also included! Contacts and other tourist info ! To rent a bike, many options, in either Dives or Cabourg. Main is Nomadeshop OR closer: Dives evasion, dives sur mer. Dives Evasion can deliver bikes on demand Dives market in the medieval hall and on the central market place (50 meters from the house) every saturday and also tuesdays at certain periods. We deeply recommend ! Butcheries and bakeries are excellent. The most remarquable bakery is probably Dupont avec un Thé (end of rue Paul Canta at the corner of Church Notre-Dame). The vegetable and fruit seller in rue Canta is excellent, as well as its Fromagerie and all Epiceries Fines. Carrefour Express Fishermen’s fresh selling of the fishing of the night, early morning in Port Guillaume (deeply recommended!) Laser Game in dives Sea sports : Cap Cabourg (boats, kite surf, jet skis, etc) right behind the « passerelle » over La Dives (15 minutes walk from the house), houlgate. Port guillaume, Merville Franceville, Houlgate, Deauville and Trouville have many offerings. Villa Marcel Proust In Cabourg, Paleospace in Villers sur Mer and Caen’s War Memorial, WWII beaches and war cemetery, highly recommended also. You can get to the beach either by turning right and right again from the house, crossing Bd Maurice Thorez, then straight, reaching “La Passerelle de la Dives” to Cabourg’s Board walk; or walking left from the house up north in Rue du Port to Port Guillaume. There “La Passerelle” is to your left to Cabourg’s beach or to your right is Houlgate’s beach. I love to ride with my bike to all these places especially to The Home Varaville (after the Golf of Cabourg) where the beach stretches as far as the eye can see… La Vélo Maritime is a good bike lane with a promenade in Cabourg’s hinterland swamps Enjoy it all! WHEN YOU LEAVE THE HOUSE, IF NOBODY IS HERE FOR CHECK-OUT, MAKE SURE ALL BAYS AND WINDOWS ARE PROPERLY LOCKED, LOCK THE MAIN ENTRANCE WOODEN DOOR OF THE HOUSE AND THE BLACK IRON GATE, THEN LEAVE THE KEYS IN THE SAFETY BOX ABOVE THE LETTERBOX USING THE CODE AND MAKING SURE IT IS WELL LOCKED AND NUMBERS ARE RE-SHUFFLED.
