The Walnut - Steps to Canoe Launch & Downtown

Enjoy what Paris and The Walnut have to offer! The Walnut is located just steps to the local canoe launch (less than 400ft), and a 9 minute walk to all downtown Paris' shopping and restaurants. The home is freshly renovated top to bottom and offers a fantastic location for a getaway with loads of higher end amenities and a great backyard for grilling, yard games, and relaxing. The space Welcome to The Walnut! A lovingly restored yellow brick home located in the beautiful town of Paris, Ontario. Living/Dining We've got a comfy/cozy living room for you to curl up and read a book, or watch a movie. Enjoy a great meal at the dining room table! Or get together with your family/friends to play cards or a board game. Or tackle a puzzle! Coffee/Tea Bar Our kitchen has a Keurig with coffee pods. We also have a standard coffee maker, a tea kettle and tea pot, and sugar. PLEASE NOTE: we only supply a small number of coffee pods and tea bags - you may wish to bring more for a longer stay. You will also need coffee filters and regular coffee if you wish to use the standard coffee maker. Kitchen The kitchen is fully stocked with all the essentials for making breakfast to preparing full family meals. We have a full size gas oven, a dishwasher, a large fridge and a countertop microwave. Some of the items we keep stocked for your use include pots and pans, baking dishes, teapot, toaster, storage containers for leftovers, drinking glasses, mixing bowls, dish towels, and sharp knives. Front Patio The coziest of patios! Fully covered and enclosed, comes with a fan to take the edge off in the summer time, loads of windows. It's really just a great spot to take a break and relax! The Pink Bedroom - 1 Queen Bed The pink bedroom is located at the front of the home on the second floor. It offers a queen size memory foam mattress, 2 soft pillows and 2 firm pillows for a good night's sleep. This room has a wall mirror, a dresser, a luggage rack, and the closet has velvet hangers and robes. There is also a fan in the closet. The Green Bedroom - 1 Queen Bed The green bedroom is located at the front of the home on the second floor. It offers a queen size memory foam mattress, 2 soft pillows and 2 firm pillows for a good night's sleep. This room has a full-length mirror, a coat rack, a luggage rack and robes. The fan for this room is located in the hallway linen closet. The Blue Bedroom - 1 Queen Bed The blue bedroom is located at the front of the home on the second floor. It offers a queen size memory foam mattress, 2 soft pillows and 2 firm pillows for a good night's sleep. This room has a wall mirror, a luggage rack, velvet hangers and robes. The fan for this room is located in the closet. This room has a desk you can use to get some work done. Bathrooms Enjoy the use of the complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hand soap, towels and hair dryer. We have two bathrooms, one on the main level just off the mudroom and one upstairs off the hallway. Main Floor Bathroom - rain shower Upstairs Bathroom - shower/tub combo Entertainment - ROKU TV in the living room - Bluetooth speaker system in the living room WIFI + Work We offer wifi, available throughout the home. One of our upstairs bedrooms has an office desk so you can have a closed off space to get some quiet work done. Outdoors This home offers a large back deck with a sectional, barbque, outdoor dining, and yard games. The yard is also fenced in - so you can let the kids and pups play! The sectional is also under a covered section, so you can enjoy the outdoors even in the rain. Laundry + Cleaning Washer and dryer are provided. We provide laundry detergent for your stay. We also provide rags and cleaning supplies, a vacuum, mop and broom should you need to clean up any spills. Guest access During your stay, the home is all yours. Our check-in process is easy and keyless. Make yourself at home! Other things to note SUPPLIES: We'll get you started with items such as toilet paper, soap, detergent and cleaning supplies, however you will be responsible for purchasing additional, if needed (should only be needed if you are staying for longer durations). THE TRAIN: The Town of Paris has a train track that runs over The Grand River through town, it is about half a KM away from the home. Most of our guests don't hear the noise/aren't bothered by it, but if you are a very light sleeper you may hear the train at night while trying to sleep.
