At Bailey's Retreat we offer four separate cottages, a Farmhouse, and a Cabin all expanding over 50 rustic acres. This 850 sq foot cottage features a gas burning fireplace, bright sunny living room with sliding glass doors leading to a deck where you can sit and take in natures beauty. There are two bedrooms, one queen and one full. The beds are made with high quality linens and pillows. Fully stocked galley kitchen with cuisinart cookware and dinnerware. We offer wine/beer tours! Sip your way through Charlottesville area and take in all the beauty the area has to offer. You'll understand why Charlottesville has become the No. 1 tourist destination in the state. Whether you want to have a private tour (non shared vehicle) or a public tour we have the wheel, so you can sit back and enjoy the sites. Our drivers are carefully selected for their understanding of the area and outstanding customer service. Public and private tours available 7 days a week. Our tours are 5 hours long. One of our expert guides will pick you up from your doorstep at noon. You will visit between 3-5 different wineries and or breweries depending on your preferences. Each itinerary is customized depending on your group size and your requests. We'll have you back to the Retreat at 5:00. We offer water on the van to keep you hydrated! We have 2 vans. Each have 12 seats. Sunday-Friday tours $75/person Saturday Public tours $50/person. Private tours $100/person (Gratuity not included.) Payment is made at the end of the tour. Bailey's Retreat offers a viewing terrace filled with adirondack chairs. The perfect spot for sitting back and taking it all in! Outdoor pavilion with chimney and deck offers a more private gathering space! Open from 8:00am-8:00pm. We provide all firewood. We are happy to share much of the grounds with guests. We welcome you to bring a picnic or a bottle of wine to the Adirondack chairs on our lawn terrace and marvel at one of our stunning sunsets or starry nights. Grab guitars or simply gather with family and friends for a fireside chat at out outdoor pavilion. Bailey's Retreat is situated on a country lane off of a country road, you are welcome to stretch your legs on a six mile walk. Bailey’s Retreat offers plenty to do and plenty of places to do nothing. We hope you enjoy our family’s homestead as much as we do. We provide our guests with privacy yet ample support if need be. Location, location, location! Bailey's Retreat is really located in the best of both worlds. Just 7 miles to the center of downtown and 7 miles to vineyard row and great hiking. Enjoy exploring out during the day and come back to tranquility and peace. Bailey’s Retreat is made up of 50 acres of peaceful rolling hills. We offer a viewing area complete with Adirondack chairs to take in the mountain vistas! The sunsets are amazing. Shenandoah National Park makes up most of the view. The Rockfish Gap entrance to the National Park is about 20 minutes away. Wineries abound! You can find multiple vineyards within a 10 minute Drive. King Family Vineyard, Meriwether Springs, Grace Estates, and Stinson are some of our favorites and are close by. The peaceful quiet area of Baileys Retreat is a perfect escape from the city. On the Retreat you’ll see lots of deer and other wild animals. There is an outdoor fireplace we refer to as “The Pavilion”. We supply all the wood and starter logs. Getting around The Retreat! We invite you to The Viewing area to marvel one of our stunning sunsets. The Pavilion (outdoor fireplace) is also for your use and is open from 8:00am-8:00pm. We encourage you to walk however if you choose to drive there is parking. Head out of your cottage on Bailey Ct and take a left on Bailey's Retreat Rd. Stay left at the fork. You'll see parking on your left. The Pavilion is just in front of the Parking. The Viewing area is across from the parking area with Adirondack chairs. Please respect our privacy and DO NOT proceed past the parking/viewing area. Our house is at the top of the ridge. Thanks. Enjoy!
