Poirier Cove - house on the beach

Our 2 bedroom fully equipped beach house has it all for the perfect vacation: 1.5 acres of land, 50 metres of beach looking over the Juan de Fuca Straits; the feeling of getting away from it all - yet just 10 minutes to shops and restaurants in Sooke. The house can be rented for either 4 people (at the price quoted) or for 6 people with an extra fee. The space Poirier Cove is all about the view: from most of the house all you can see is water - and the mountains of the Olympic peninsula. And then there’s the wildlife: otters, seals, sea lions and the occasional whale. Not to mention the sea and shore birds. You can spend a day quite happily with a pair of binoculars watching the action. Or you can set off to explore the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. The extensive private beach is perfect for lounging or getting out on the water for a paddle. Inside - the kitchen, sitting room and dining room all look out over the water. The kitchen has everything you need if you choose to eat in. The dining table seats 6, and the comfortable living room has a fireplace. You'll find a woodpile next to the garage. We've left plenty of board games and books for evenings around the fire, but there's also excellent wifi and the TV if you prefer. So rainy days don’t feel so bad. For 4 guest bookings, the master bedroom has a queen bed, the other has twin beds, both with plenty of extra bedding. For 6 guest bookings, the bedroom in the newly renovated basement has a queen bed. We have a heat pump which keeps the house extremely warm and can be adjusted with the Nest thermostat. Poirier Cove is a short drive from Sooke's shops and restaurants; miles of sandy beaches; west coast rain forest - or 45 minutes to downtown Victoria. The ideal place for a vacation! Guest access You have the whole house to yourselves - including a fully equipped kitchen, washer and dryer - and of course the beach and garden.
