The space Built in 1880 and fully renovated, the house is a typical example of Porto architecture: a tall, narrow street façade covered in azulejos (ceramic tiles), an elevated ground floor, large rooms with high ceilings (4 m - 13 ft high), a magnificent central wooden staircase featuring a claraboia (skylight) and an enclosed back garden. All the original features of the house have been kept: azulejos, parquet floors, carvings, woodwork, wooden shutters, interior granite walls… The garden facade has been modified to provide more access to the exterior. From the house, you can visit the whole of Porto on foot: Rua Santa Catarina, Porto’s main pedestrian street, is a 2-minute walk, Praça da Liberdade is a 10-minute walk and Torre dos Clérigos is a 15-minute walk.
