Located on the edge of the Forest of Dean and near the Wye Valley A private retreat with direct access to the forest watch the buzzards fly above you playing in the thermals and listen to the many sounds of the countryside If it is walking ,cycling , painting or just listening to the birds whatever you have planned in the area you have your own private wood fired hot tub for you to light and enjoy when you wish and just relax With a local well stocked shop at Lea about a mile away. The space Hobbyhorse Rest has been lovingly made with comfort and relaxation in mind it has wonderful views wonderful walks straight through the secret gate into the Forest of Dean and the potential of being lucky enough to see the wonderful array of Forest animals on your stay The River Wye is only a few miles away and is the heart of the Wye valley Guest access We have the parking paddock and three other paddocks available for their use No access signs indicate private areas not available to them Unfortunately the entrance consists of a series of steps and is not wheelchair accessible or child friendly Other things to note Access to parking and hobbyhorse rest is past our main house and stable block where our resident chickens and ducks are free to wander so we do ask movement of vehicles be slow and observant for any feathered friends There is a locked private pedestrian gate to the woodland which you will be given the number to on arrival (and button at bottom of the lock to be pressed) walking through this will take you to some short or long walks whatever you feel like at the time
