Description
Karriwood cottage is a rare stand alone house nestled in the forest, 500m from Warren National Park and 15mins from Pemberton. Mountain bike through the forest, hike down the Heartbreak Trail, or set off on a kayak on the river. Alternatively don’t go anywhere, brew another coffee and chat to the blue wrens. We offer an eco-friendly experience, minimising disposable plastic and using natural products. You can be self-sufficient with an espresso machine & bread maker. The space We love this place because it is an extension of the national park. It’s peaceful, private and the garden is the forest. The house is modest. It has new appliances and very comfy beds. It is a 2 acre block and there are effectively no fences. There is a clearing 20 metres around the house. Beyond that, it's all tall timber, with delightful bush nooks to explore, and cubbies to build. Expect old man kangaroo to be standing in the doorway some mornings. Guest access You have the whole house. One small room is locked up. You don’t have access to the shed. Outdoor gear can be stored on the verandah. Please do not trespass on neighbouring farms as tempting as low hanging fruit may be. Other things to note This is a rural forest setting. There is minimal fencing and there is a dam that is not fenced 50m from the house. You will need to monitor toddlers and young children who aren’t dam & rural setting aware. Fires are not allowed outside the house at any time of the year. Bring sensible shoes including an easy kick off pair for in and out. Don't forget your rain jacket. This is Pemberton. The house runs on rainwater so please don't leave taps and hoses on!! Please note we encourage recycling of items where possible, and have a general recyclables, soft plastic and compost bin.
