"Casa da Caseira", Country House, Serra da Estrela

Casa da Caseira is a cosy country-house and belongs to Casa Grande. On the first floor are the two bedrooms: one with a double bed, the other with two single extra beds only for children. The living room with a tiny cooking space (kitchenette) and the bathroom are on the groundfloor. In winter you will enjoy the fireplace there. Please do your grocery shopping before arriving. The space To Casa Grande belongs a paradisiac garden where you can easily relax. You can enjoy beautiful flowers, quite and private places, fresh vegetables and lots of different trees and their fruits (apricots, plums, appel, pear, figs). There is also a nice pavilion you can use for your purpose (Yoga, Meditation, Dancing, Workshops...). In the olive yard you can visite also a forge museum and the roman milestone of the region. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property and free parking, the garden and, upon request, subject to availability, guided tours of the forge museum, the threshing floor, the Roman milestone and eventually the common room where you can observe the manual loom in operation and the originals of the first Portuguese aerial photographs taken by our grandfather with his cameras from the beginning of the 20th century. Other things to note On the property you can jog, picnic on the stone tables, relax in the shed, use the outdoor barbecue outside of the restricted seasons, visit the forge, the threshing floor and the milestone. By car or on foot, it is good to take the time to calmly visit the Serra da Estrela Natural Park at any time of the year, for the colorful landscape in Spring and Autumn, for the numerous signposted walking routes, for the river beaches with boat trips on the dams in Summer and also for winter sports in the snow season.
