Awandaweh Cottage is a tastefully decorated cottage with local art & furnishings. Two queen-size, air-conditioned bedrooms, each furnished with a private bathroom. A spacious, well-equipped kitchen with all of your cooking and dining needs. Marie, your Housekeeper, will ensure that your vacation is hassle-free and perfect in every way. She will pre-purchase your grocery needs and have an arrival dinner ready and waiting, or you are welcome to prepare your meals as you desire. This cottage provides a large open concept dining-living area with multiple French doors leading either to your private plunge pool and patio area, as well as a long verandah with outdoor dining on one side and an additional sitting area on the other. There is also a comfortable, second indoor sitting area to the side of the dining table to decompress with a book, listen to music. Just a short drive from Calabash Bay, this cottage is surrounded by lush lignum vitae trees and flowering bougainvillea, with the Santa Cruz Mountains on one side and the Caribbean sea only a stone's throw away. Awandaweh Cottage is the perfect island getaway for a couple, a set of close friends, or a larger group occupying the adjacent beachfront villa Driftwood. AWANDAWEH COTTAGE, combined with DRIFTWOOD, provides accommodations for up to 10 guests, 5-bedrooms, and 5-bathrooms in total. If you would like an arriving meal, we will discuss and organizing your details (food allergies, dietary restrictions, strong food dislikes). Marie is also happy to Pre-stock the cottage with food and beverage items, this can be done for bookings of 3-nights or more. Guests refund Maire by receipts and records. PLEASE NOTE - there is a surcharge on all shopping bills for each shopping excursion to cover transportation to Black River or Junction. The Cottage is located in the small fishing village of Great Bay on the South Coast of Jamaica. It is a quiet village comprised of a small close-knit group of wonderfully friendly people. It is a perfect place to decompress and check-out from the business of daily life. The closest international airport to Treasure Beach is Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay. Awandaweh Cottage is approximately 60 miles from the airport and takes about 2.5 hours by car. The Norman Manley International (Kingston) Airport is 3+ hours away. The drive is an amazing introduction to Jamaica that takes you through the mountain border of the cockpit country and along the Southern Coast. If you plan on renting a car/driving yourself And Have Never Driven to the South Coast -- Please Make Sure you have enough daylight on your side after you land so you can see the roads and intersections...signs are not always clear and street lights are minimum to none (it is not like driving on the North Coast Highway) We can also organize a PPV insured/certified driver (Mark) to meet you and take you to a currency exchange (much better rate than airport cambio) as well as to a grocery/liquor/pharmacy store for you to pick up your supplies for your stay -- bank/credit cards are accepted at these locations. Mark can also be your driver for local outings and excursions. Please inquire about rates. Jamaica’s famous Appleton rum and Red Stripe beer and miscellaneous food staples are available in Great Bay Village just a 5-minute walk down the beach. Any specialty/luxury items will need to be purchased in either Montego Bay or Kingston on arrival. Local restaurants, “Cook Shops” and “Rum Bars” are just minutes drive away.
