Situated in the heart of Devon, Bridge Cottage is a traditional cob cottage nestled on the banks of the river Torridge, on the edge of the picturesque village of Sheepwash. The 2 bed / 2 bath cottage offers a homely rural retreat for up to four guests – a relaxing space at the end of an active day, or a tranquil place to simply escape. The property has its own cottage garden as well as a private riverbank woodland from where you can fish - or relax by the water and watch the local wildlife. The space The cottage is comfortably appointed with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a well equipped kitchen, sitting room with wood burning stove and a further bright sun room. The house is situated in an old quarry, with which the history of the house is associated. A summer house sits in an elevated position on a deck behind the house, where you can sit surrounded by birdsong looking out across the river, trees and meadow. There is also a small fishing hut on land belonging to Bridge Cottage a short walk from the house on the edge of the river where you can enjoy time amongst wildlife - and sometimes even an otter can be spotted. More extensive fishing access can be arranged through the local pub. Guest access There are two parking spaces in front of the house. The lane is used by local farmer and must be kept clear at all times. The house is 0.4miles from the village square - where you'll find the community shop and pub. It's a walk uphill into the village - but downhill all the way home! Other things to note Ideally booking requests will run from Fridays or Mondays, but at quiet times of the year other days might be possible too - please get in touch to discuss options. The second bedroom has the option to be set up with twin single beds or a kingsize double bed.
