Le Grys House. Escape to Norfolk's Countryside
Description
Owls swoop low over the fields, hares race across the farm track and on a clear night, the vast Norfolk sky shimmers with stars. There are country walks from the garden gate, and a garden overlooking fields and common land where cows graze in high summer. Painted by artists; studied by historians; and loved by anyone who treasures wildlife, Le Grys House is a very special place indeed. The space The door opens onto a brick-floored farmhouse kitchen with an original copper, electric range-style cooker, table, microwave, fridge and dishwasher. There are two sitting rooms (one in the former dairy downstairs, and one upstairs in the converted apple store), and two bedrooms - a twin on the ground floor and a double on the first floor with the second sitting room. The upstairs bed/sitting room is accessed by an alternating tread staircase from the downstairs sitting room. Please note that there is no separating door to the upstairs sitting room and bedroom. The shower room is situated on the ground floor, up a step from the kitchen. There is a small games room with table football. The house was built in the 16th century, with later additions in the 17th century, so doors and beams are low, and floors are mostly brick, pamment and very old oak. Le Grys House is perfectly situated for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk. The market town of Bungay, on the edge of The Broads National Park is 14 miles away, as is the historical city of Norwich. Wymondham is under 10 miles, and the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, 30 miles.
