The shepherd's hut is located in a private and peaceful spot on our smallholding, on the outskirts of the South Downs National Park. The hut has great amenities and is heated. It has great access to footpaths and local shops and pubs. We are fortunate enough to have some wonderful wildlife here, including deer, birds of prey and woodpeckers. As well as our rare breed sheep and pigs. Issy is a land agent and Geoff is a tree surgeon, so we have a keen interest in nature and the environment. The space Our gorgeous shepherds hut has a living/sleeping space with a fridge, hob, sink and oven with a table which can be installed if the weather isn’t suitable for al fresco dining! There is a lovely porch area to sit out of the sun (or rain!) and to take your boots off after a country walk. The bed is a super comfortable double. The bathroom facilities are within the hut in a separate room with a good shower. Shampoo, conditioner and shower gel are all provided. There is also an eco friendly compost toilet. We can offer discounts for stays of longer than 1 night, just ask! We also offer breakfast or bbq packs using produce from the farm - eggs, pork sausages, bacon and eggs, as well as venison burgers and sausages which are fantastic on the bbq. Guest access Unfortunately the shepherds hut isn’t easily accessed using public transport. We have plenty of free parking onsite. There is a roughly 5 min. walk across 2 fields to the hut from the parking area. This can get muddy in the winter due to the weather so if you come at this time of year we recommend bringing some boots. Please note there is no access available around the rest of the farm. It is our family home and there are several areas of livestock etc so the stay is for the hut and the field in which it is located. Thanks for your understanding! We have tried to make it a peaceful, relaxing and private place to stay which offers a break from the hustle and bustle. There are some board games and cards etc, as well as a radio.
