For someone who has never been to DR there is no better way to experience the country. This town is known for beautiful rice fields and as the Land of Cacao. This is because one of the best organic Cacao in the world is produced here and exported to switzerland to produce the finest chocolates. Also, the DR has positioned itself as the world's biggest producer and exporter nation for organic cacao. While staying here you can visit El sendero del Cacao where you will be in the middle of a cacao plantation, spend the day learning about growing cacao, learn how to make chocolate and, have a typical dominican lunch. The best thing about this town is that there are amazing places to visit in DR less than 2 hours away. I usually make this my home base and travel around . All nearby towns are worth a visit specially Jarabacoa & Santiago which are only 45 minutes away. La vega about 30-40minutes away. And the best beaches are about 2 hours away, Las terrenas or Puerto Plata area. This town is also famous for Baseball. San francisco has a lot of restaurants, and bars near by, or you can get delivery to the house. There is a beauty salon, and ice cream places near by. Our home is perfect for business travelers, families, and friends wanting to explore inner Dominican republic. Uber works well, or Car rental from the airport.
