Sunny, private bedroom on the second floor, with a queen-size bed and in a quiet suburb. Miles of nature trails start 300 ft from our front door. NOTE: My rooms are sometimes more available than their calendars show. Click the "Contact host" button below, send me your dates, and I'll reply quickly. Thank you! Your bedroom is on the second floor at the front of the house, with a shared (Airbnb guests only) bathroom across the hall. Use the mini-fridge to keep your beverages and left-overs cold, and the microwave for reheating. On the dresser are a toaster and a coffee maker/water heater, with coffee, tea, and instant cocoa nearby. Your room has thermal-barrier window drapes plus ... --Summer: A three-speed ceiling fan and an oscillating, three-speed desk fan. Guests have never reported that either of the fans are noisy. --Late fall, winter, and early spring: Flannel bedding and two extra blankets in the closet. I’m happy to use regular cotton bedding instead, if you prefer! Guests have access to the following spaces: —Bedroom —Bathroom —Kitchen for oven and additional refrigerator space —Laundry room —Deck —Driveway More information: —You're welcome to use our washer and dryer (also on main floor) for $4 a load, each machine, cash up front. Exception: You'll need to take oily or heavily soiled work clothes to the laundromat about a 10-minute drive away. —Parking is usually up in the driveway, and sometimes on our side of the street right in front of the house. The city prohibits overnight street parking from November through March so the snow plows can do their thing. During those months, we'll coordinate the two driveway spots to make sure that we all can come and go when we need to. —I'll usually be around during the day and evening. However, our house is laid out in such a way that you will usually only see me when you're coming and going. —We have two other bedrooms on Airbnb, so chances are you'll encounter another guest during your stay. —We (family) never use your bathroom, but when the other upstairs Airbnb room is booked, you'll share the bathroom with that guest. There's a schedule on the bathroom door to reserve shower times. NOTE: Airbnb's category "Lake" with the descriptor "10-minute walk from a lake" is not accurate and is being removed. Please see the lake in the general map above or to the right. Your walk to this lake is closer to 20 minutes. THIS MUCH IS TRUE: We're in a quiet residential neighborhood with very little motor traffic during the day on weekdays. You’ll see many people out walking in the evenings and on weekends. Your welcome packet includes maps of neighborhood trails and the nearby regional trails, as well as ethnic and American dining within 10 minutes of our house. Uber and Lyft drivers tend to arrive at different times after you place a call, but usually in about 15 minutes. If you have a car but prefer public transportation over city driving, we're a 10 minute drive from a Park 'n' Ride lot with express connections to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. SEE THE MAPS AT THE END OF THE PROFILE PICTURES that show routes and drive times for common Twin Cities destinations: —MSP International Airport (35-36 min) —National Sports Center, Blaine (15-17 min) —Target Center, 600 N 1st Ave, Minneapolis (30-31 min) —Target Field, 1 Twins Way, Minneapolis (28-32 min) —Univ. of Minn. Minneapolis Campus (25-27 min) —Univ. of Minn. St. Paul Campus (21-24 min) —Xcel Energy Center, St. Paul (27-29 min) In addition to the maps at the end of the profile pictures, below are approximate drive times from our house to a few other major venues and museums in the Twin Cities. Please note that these drive times don’t factor in rush hour traffic, possible road construction along the route, or the time required to find a parking space. —Como Zoo and Conservatory: 27-29 min —Guthrie Theater: 26-28 min —Minneapolis Institute of Art: 32-34 min —Science Museum of Minnesota: 26-28 min —Walker Art Center: 28-29 min —Weisman Art Museum (Univ. of Minnesota): 29-31 min —U.S. Bank Stadium (27-28 min) —Please note that if you search without any dates, the price you'll see reflects the 10 percent discount for a 7-night stay or longer. If you enter a date range of fewer than 7 nights, then the total price will be higher, plus Airbnb adds fees. —I'm almost always here for check-in. If I'm not here, you'll find the house key in a convenient place and I'll send you additional information by text. —You should be comfortable with dogs and cats, because we have a full-size collie and an indoor-outdoor, long-haired cat. —If you're traveling with a service dog, please be aware that our collie is very territorial. This means that you can't leave your service dog alone (you keep your service dog with you, anyway, of course, but hosts need to state this) and you need to be between your service dog and our dog at all times. —We have a permanent tenant on our lower level (walk-out basement) whom you might meet in the driveway coming and going. She has her own entry from the patio under the deck, has no access to the rest of the house, and does not share the deck.
